Galaxy Note 9 vs Galaxy S9: beyond the screen size

Galaxy Note 9 vs Galaxy S9: beyond the screen size

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy Note 9 this year a bit earlier than its 2017 predecessor. The primary reason, the reports claim, was to offset the rather disappointing but not terrible sales of the Galaxy S9. But if people felt that Samsung didn't give consumers enough reasons to upgrade to a Galaxy S9, then the Galaxy Note 9 might give them yet another reason to skip this year's S series. Because, in a nutshell, the Galaxy Note 9 might be a better Galaxy S9 than the Galaxy S9 itself.

Galaxy S9 Zero Camera Mod removes limits to improve quality

Galaxy S9 Zero Camera Mod removes limits to improve quality

Samsung boasts of how it has reimagined the smartphone camera in the Galaxy S9 and S9+ but it might still fall short for some more professional mobile photographers. There are certain restrictions placed that may not make sense for some of these advanced users. Those might need more than just a simple third-party camera app. The Zero Camera Mod is definitely more than just that and can greatly improve the Galaxy S9 camera experience, provided you're willing to go for a bit of an adventure.

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 ad takes iPhone potshots – but is it realistic?

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 ad takes iPhone potshots – but is it realistic?

Samsung loves taking pot-shots at Apple, though it's fair to say that its commercials can be more memorable for how readily they backfire than how convincing they are. In the company's newest advert, titles "Moving On," Samsung is unsurprisingly making the argument that it's time to upgrade to a Galaxy S9.

Galaxy Note 9, S10 early launch: Samsung rushes again

It seems that Samsung may have not been burned badly enough by the Galaxy Note 7 catastrophe in 2016. Either that or it is slowly transitioning to a new and more permanent release cadence. Since the Galaxy S8 last year, Samsung has been moving its flagship launches earlier and earlier, shifting away from the company's once predictable strategy. Korean media are now reporting that not only will the Galaxy Note 9 be launched earlier this year, so will the Galaxy S10. And Samsung may have a lot of reasons for doing so.

Galaxy S9, S9+ get Sunrise Gold, Burgundy Red color options

Smartphones these days have become so pretty and even durable that there are those who prefer their mobile companions to be naked. Their only hesitation often comes from the drab and common black, white, and gray colors on their smartphone's rear. That is why some manufacturers have taken pains to distinguish their smartphones' backs by design, color, or even both. Take for example the Galaxy S9 ad S9+, whose glossy glass backs now come in gold and the ever so rare red hues.

Galaxy A6, A6+ now official, Galaxy S9 in Galaxy J clothing

Samsung has finally took the covers off the Galaxy A6 and A6+ though we've pretty much known everything there is about them. Of course, it's always good to have official confirmation, plus some details on their availability. As with the Galaxy S9 and S9+, Samsung is pushing the pair's camera chops. But unlike the higher end model, only one of them really has the bragging rights to Samsung's "Camera Reimagined" slogan.

Don’t buy Samsung’s 256GB Galaxy S9 – get this instead

Storage fans wanting the most capacious Android smartphone may be looking eagerly at Samsung's new 128 GB and 256 GB Galaxy S9 and S9+ today, but those who consider themselves clever with money should look elsewhere. The new smartphones do address complaints from some quarters about the standard 64 GB that Samsung's 2018 flagships launched with, but I'd argue they're not the best way to get more space for photos and videos.
