There may be no “flat” Galaxy Note 6

There may be no “flat” Galaxy Note 6

While the Galaxy Note 6 may be coming with an "Edge" version right out the gate, it's possible that no flat version will come at all. NOTE: Before we go any further, make certain you understand that we're working with pre-official information here, not confirmed data from Samsung. What we're to understand as of this week is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 - likely coming with the name Galaxy Note 7 (skipping the "6" to match the Galaxy S line releases), will come with a curved-edge display. And that there may be no traditional release.

Galaxy Note 7 mass production starts next month says source

An industry source is claiming that Samsung will begin mass production of the much rumored Galaxy Note 7 starting next month. This same source claims that Samsung plans to build about 5 million units for its initial launch with the devices completed by August. That August complete date for the initial supply of smartphones would fit in well with the rumor from earlier this week that the Galaxy Note 7 will launch August 2.

Galaxy Note 7 leaked invite notes an August 2 announcement

The answers to our burning questions might not be that far away after all. Perhaps hoping to repeat the circumstances that led to a rather fruitful first quarter for Samsung, the Korean manufacturer is believed to be announcing and most likely launching the Galaxy Note 7 earlier than ever. An alleged screenshot of the next Unpacked event's invitation marks the date as 2nd of August. The graphic also seemingly confirms the number "7" as well as the "edge" names to be used in that upcoming phablet.

Galaxy Note 7 name tipped again

Galaxy Note 7 name tipped again

Back in late May, we first reported on a rumor that the next Galaxy note smartphone would change the naming convention that Samsung has used. If Samsung followed its traditional naming convention, the new Note phablet would be the Galaxy Note 6. The rumor suggested that the next device would instead be called the Galaxy Note 7.

Galaxy Note 6 may be called the Galaxy Note 7 instead

Samsung has done well so far with its Galaxy S7 family of smartphones. Sales have been robust and a new rumor is making the rounds that Samsung might change its naming convention typically used for the Galaxy Note line to capitalize on the success of the S7. According to a new rumor making the rounds, Samsung will skip the Galaxy Note 6 name and move straight to the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 needs to be a LOT more magical than this

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 needs to be a LOT more magical than this

Today we've come across a patent for a new version of a device that you may have heard of before. It's the Apple Pencil. What's that got to do with the Samsung Galaxy Note 6? One very key element - the S Pen. What it can do, what it can't do, and what we're going to expect it to do now that Apple has (finally) presented a stylus of their own. The patent we're seeing makes the Samsung Galaxy Note's S Pen look like no more than a decent first attempt at a higher-level stylus device. Can they both write and draw? Sure. That's where similarities end. See our Samsung portal for the most updated word on this device.

Galaxy Note 6 details 2x phones, 5.8-inch screen, massive battery

It's just a few months now before the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 ends up being revealed by the company, just in time to battle the next iPhone. Just as it was the past several years with release timing, it shall be again - we have no indication at this time to the contrary. But what has been and was stopped may end up being brought back - more than one Samsung Galaxy Note in a year. Blasphemous? Maybe. Curved? Almost certainly.

Galaxy Android Marshmallow updates coming this month

Galaxy Android Marshmallow updates coming this month

On of the most popular families of Android smartphones - Samsung's Galaxy collection - will be seeing additional update to Android Marshmallow this month. This includes both the Samsung Galaxy S7 - if, by some miracle, you weren't on Marshmallow already - as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is also getting final upgrades to Marshmallow this month if you've not already seen updates in the past couple of weeks.

Galaxy Note 6 may scan your eye to unlock details

As it was with the original Samsung Galaxy Note and every Galaxy Note thereafter, the Galaxy S7 will inform the next big-time S Pen-toting device. The smaller device will inform the looks and the feel of the larger device, and many features will be brought over to the future model as well. The Galaxy Note 6 will therefore be extremely familiar - it'll look more or less like the Galaxy Note 5 - but it'll have water resistance.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 said to have 6GB RAM, 5.8-inch screen

Given how the Samsung Galaxy S7 has practically been leaked to death and how near we are to its unveiling, it is perhaps time to start warming up the rumor mill for things still far, far away. For example, perhaps it's time to speculate on the Galaxy Note 6, which is still a good half year away. According to this premature rumor, the S Pen powered phablet will actually increase in size, both in display with a 5.8-inch screen, as well as in RAM, with a whopping 6 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 to return to the UK, Galaxy S7 edge+ out

The Galaxy S7 isn't even out yet, but here we are talking about the Galaxy Note 6 and Galaxy S6 edge+ already. The pair isn't even expected to appear until later this year at IFA 2016, but already they might be introducing heartaches, at least for those in the UK. Perhaps reeling from the "business decision" they made last year, Samsung is now rumored to be bringing the Galaxy Note 6 to the UK this time around. But in exchange, Samsung might actually be killing of the Galaxy S7 edge+ entirely.
