  • Azzief's first game was shareware Doom on the family PC, and he's been an avid gamer ever since, putting thousands of hours into RPG and FPS games on PC and consoles (albeit without ever really getting good at them).
  • He's had more than 20 vintage and modern mechanical keyboards pass through his hands over the past decade, settling on capacitive buckling spring and Topre as his preferred switches.
  • He built his first PC in the late noughties and has continued to be hands-on with his rig(s) since, whether it's something as simple as installing a new storage drive or performing wholesale system upgrades.

Experience

Azzief has been writing professionally since 2013, primarily in the fields of popular music and technology (and, occasionally, the intersections of both). He started out writing for Malaysian websites and magazines such as Hongkiat.com, JUICE Malaysia, and The Wknd before going international in 2020. Since then, he's contributed reviews, interviews, and features to sites such as NME Asia, Voltcave, and MyNextTablet. While he caught the PC bug from his techie father, colleagues at his first full-time writing job in 2013 really set him on his current hardware-obsessed path by introducing him to the wonderful world of mechanical keyboards and high-performance gaming mice — and he hasn't looked back since.

Education

Azzief has a master's degree in communication from the Science University of Malaysia and a bachelor's degree in English from UNIRAZAK.
