AT&T Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 Active get Android 7.0 Nougat

With all the attention being lavished on the Galaxy S8, you'd presume that Samsung and carriers have probably forgotten about older devices. That is especially true if said device is about 2 years old. Barely making it to the cut, the Galaxy S6 family, launched in 2015, got their Android Nougat update way back in March. That is, at least the European ones. Catching up before it forgets, AT&T is finally rolling out the same update to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, and Galaxy S6 Active.

Today we review the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active from AT&T. This device takes the innards of the Galaxy S6, expanding the exterior bits to make a device that's resistant to the elements as well as shock. You can drop this one. While the original Galaxy "Active" device wasn't quite as resistant to the one truest danger of all, dropping the darned thing, here we've been given a reprieve. And a good sign for the future. This device has everything the Galaxy S6 has, and more - a bigger battery too.

Today we compare the Galaxy S6 Active to it's slightly less active counterpart, the original Samsung Galaxy S6. These devices are very similar where it matters most - in their cameras, their software, and their displays. The places where they're different is in their ability to handle the elements. Hence the name - Active. There's also carriers to think about. While the Galaxy S6 is available through most any carrier you like, the Active iteration is only available in the United States through AT&T. If you cannot roll with that, you cannot roll with this.
