Back in February, Bem Wireless introduced a unique wearable, the Speaker Band. As its name suggests, the Speaker Band is a wrist band that, at first glance, appears to be a boxy smartwatch. Over the face is positioned a grille, however, and beneath it sits a little portable speaker.
Jawbone’s MINI JAMBOX is getting friendly, with new software allowing two of the portable, battery-powered speakers to easily pair up for room-filling sound, while giving two people the chance to collaborate as communal DJs. Released today, the new firmware enables Multipoint in the MINI JAMBOX’s Bluetooth Smart Ready stack: put a couple of the speakers near each other, hold down all three of the buttons on both, and after a few seconds they link up and spread whatever’s playing between both. I caught up with Jawbone to find out more.

The SP-1V, as it’s currently known, is a sharply designed Bluetooth aptX capable travel speaker. The world is not short of Bluetooth speakers, but Fugoo thinks there's room for at least one more brand: one that actually promises great audio quality as well as some Siri and Google Now magic thrown in too. We know, you've heard that before, but for once the hype might have some reality behind it; we caught up with Fugoo ahead of its CES 2014 launch to test the speakers out up against some of their better-known competition, coming away both surprised and impressed. Read on for all the details.
Korus thinks the audio market needs a new music streaming system. That's an ambitious goal: if you've been in the market for wireless audio recently, you'll undoubtedly have seen a fair few existing options, from Bluetooth (with or without aptX), WiFi, and proprietary options like Apple's AirPlay and Sonos' well-esteemed whole home systems. Korus' two new portable speakers, the V600 and V400, don't use any of them, in fact, but is that a brave decision that pays off in performance, or simply too ambitious a challenge for one start-up to bite off? Read on for the SlashGear review.
