Experience
In a long career in photography journalism, Barnaby has used just about every consumer and professional digital camera ever released. In a writing career that has spanned almost two decades, Barnaby has contributed work to some of the biggest publications in the world (albeit not always under his own name!). Starting in London, UK, Barnaby reviewed cameras for Amateur Photographer magazine, the oldest continuously-published weekly photography magazine in the world. In 2009 he joined the team at DPReview.com, the foremost source of expert technical information for digital photographers. Along the way he has appeared in scores of videos, and several podcasts, and has made appearances at art and photography events all over the world. Since 2022 he has written for a variety of other clients in the photography, technology, and marketing industries. After years of shooting live music imagery for Getty Images, he remains a keen (and proudly amateur) photographer.
Education
Barnaby has a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Philosophy, and a masters degree in The Photographic Image, both from Durham University (UK).
