Monster Hunter: World gets second major update with Kulve Taroth

The second big update for Capcom's Monster Hunter: World arrived this week, just in time to keep players entertained with new content and features. The biggest addition, of course, is a new monster to hunt in the form of Kulve Taroth, a massive golden Elder Dragon that includes a new quest type, along with its new weapons and armor to forge. But the update, which brings the game up to version 3.00, also includes a number of quality of life improvements.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection heads west later this year

Mega Man X Legacy Collection heads west later this year

Though Capcom's recent Mega Man Legacy Collection was a fun way to revisit classic games in the series, it left many of us wondering if Capcom would give the same treatment to the Mega Man X series. After all, Mega Man X proved to be a very successful spin-off series all its own, with nearly as many games as the core Mega Man franchise. It turns out that no, Capcom hasn't forgotten about Mega Man X, and it will indeed be releasing a compilation of X games later this year.

In a relatively short amount of time, Monster Hunter: World has become Capcom's most successful game ever. Perhaps it's no surprise, then, that we're seeing Capcom roll out tie-in after tie-in for Monster Hunter: World players. First it was World's tie-in with Horizon Zero Dawn, which was followed with a Street Fighter promotion, and now, players are about to get some Devil May Cry-themed gear.

Monster Hunter: World just set a big Capcom record

We've got a big year of big games ahead of us, but one of the largest has already launched. The company announced today that Monster Hunter: World has shipped a whopping 7.5 million copies since its launch about five weeks ago.

Monster Hunter: World’s Street Fighter crossover is now underway

Capcom has been running a number of different promotions for early adopters of Monster Hunter: World, but unfortunately, the first big one - which grants players armor and weapons from Hoirzon Zero Dawn - is only available to PlayStation 4 players. Capcom is ready to launch a Street Fighter V tie-in with Monster Hunter: World, and the good news is that eventually this will be available to everyone playing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The bad news (for Xbox One players at any rate) is that it's rolling out to PS4 owners first.

Since launch, Capcom has been running a special promotion that nets Monster Hunter players items that tie into Horizon Zero Dawn, which was perhaps PS4's best exclusive in 2017. The first stage of that promotion finished earlier in the month, and now Capcom has told us when the next stage will begin.

Street Fighter 5 is getting fan-favorite Blanka next week

The Street Fighter series has no lack of recognizable characters, but perhaps one of the most famous is Blanka. Sure, he might not have the followings that series regulars like Ryu and Chun-Li have, but you'd be hard pressed to find even a casual fighting game fan who can't identify Blanka on sight. With that kind of notoriety, it was only a matter of time before Blanka made his way to Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition, and today Capcom revealed just when that will be.

Monster Hunter: World snubs Switch – here’s why

Monster Hunter: World is the first big game of 2018, and there's a lot of excitement behind it because it's the first Monster Hunter game in recent memory to launch for something other than the Nintendo 3DS. Monster Hunter: World will be launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in just a few days, with a PC release to follow later (much later) this year. Eagle-eyed readers might notice one major platform missing from that list: Nintendo Switch.
