As we've previously detailed, this DLC features more banned footage, as well as some new game missions.

Say hello to Street Fighter 5’s newest DLC character

Street Fighter 5 fans have something to look forward for at the end of the month, as Capcom has announced the game's newest DLC fighter. Kolin will be joining the roster as the second character in Season 2, and she'll become available on the final day of February. She uses the Russian martial arts style of Systema along with ice-themed powers, so perhaps it's appropriate that Capcom is releasing her while we're still knee-deep in winter here in the US.

Resident Evil 7 4D Candle is a ‘horror-scented’ VR accessory

Resident Evil 7 4D Candle is a ‘horror-scented’ VR accessory

There’s so-called 4D gaming, which is usually a VR game joined by items that engaged other senses — a rumbling seat when you’re ‘driving’ over cobble roads, maybe, or an authentic scent to match your VR environment. Here to bring about that latter element, in a roundabout sort of way, is an official Resident Evil 7 biohazard “4D” candle that supposedly smells like the interior of the game's Baker House Mansion.

Resident Evil 7 preorders will include free digital copy of ‘Retribution’

Those who preorder a video game usually get some perks for doing so — special downloadable gaming content, exclusive vehicles or weapons, or early access to the game, for example. The same is true for those who preorder Resident Evil 7, only with a bit of a twist: gamers will receive a code to download a free copy of one of the Resident Evil movies. The perk varies a bit, though, depending on where you preorder the game.

Mega Man Mobile is here, six games for $2 each

Mega Man Mobile is here, six games for $2 each

True to its word, Capcom has indeed released the mobile port of its first six Mega Man games, though it should have probably chosen a better time to do so. Mega Man Mobile’s launch is likely to be buried under the flood of CES 2017 announcements this week. But that might also work in its favor, considering the rather low rating the game is getting. Hate it or love it, Mega Man 1 to 6 is now available on Android and iOS, but you’ll have to pony up $1.99 to get each and every single game in the list.

Mega Man Mobile pre-registration is up, no rewards offered

Nintendo may be taking its sweet time to bring its sweet time to bring even just its characters to mobile, other Japanese gaming giants aren't so slow-paced. Square Enix, for example, has practically ported its entire Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series to smartphones and now Capcom is following suit with Mega Man Mobile. The company has just opened up its pre-registration page for the game but, if you were hoping to get something in return for being an early bird, no such luck.

Mega Man 1-6 arrive on iOS and Android in January

Mega Man fans take note, because the original six games in the franchise will be arriving on iOS and Android next month. Capcom's mobile division announced the ports through Twitter earlier today, but didn't give any additional details about them. It did invite players to pre-register to get the games, and to presumably receive more information about them before launch.

Street Fighter V will shame rage quitters with public profile icon

Even almost a year after launch, Street Fighter V still has problems dealing with rage quitters, or those players who leave a match before its completion, either out of pure frustration or to avoid the penalties of losing. In the months since the game's release, developer Capcom implemented changes to make sure rage quitters were appropriately punished, but poor sportsmanship continues to be a downer for those who play online.

Capcom will focus on reviving older game franchises in 2017

As we’ve previously reported, 2017 will bring Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, but it’ll also mark the revival of some other older game franchises. Capcom said as much on Monday when it announced the aforementioned game’s planned late 2017 release date. Which ‘dormant IP’ will get attention from Capcom wasn’t revealed, though, and there may not be any solid plans in place at this time.

PlayStation Experience 2016: the biggest trailers and game announcements

This weekend saw the 2016 PlayStation Experience (PSX) held in Anaheim, California. Similar to E3, the event lets Sony focus on its own PlayStation gaming platform, but without rival companies competing for attention. It's also on a bit of a smaller scale, allowing gamers to get hands on time with new and upcoming games, as well as for partnering publishers to make some big announcements.
