There’s nothing like a good Special Edition release of a video game to get you hyped up about owning the actual software. Nothing like a good Batmobile, either. That’s why the folks at Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have teamed up with the model-makers at Triforce to create a fully transformable Batmobile for their big-time release.
For a superhero whose earliest battle cry was "Truth, Justice, and the American Way", this might have been that last thing you'd expect. But perhaps proving that Superman's appeal, message, and influence reaches beyond the borders of any single country, or planet for that matter, the Royal Canadian Mint is giving tribute to the fictional alien who has made our planet his home.
Neptune’s beard! It would appear that we’re closer than ever to an Aquaman solo hero movie ready to roll by the year 2015. Closer than ever - closer than a Wonder Woman movie! We’re not ready for that, after all, that’d be as absurd as Marvel releasing a movie about Thor!
The first glimpse of the fastest man alive in action, on video, that is to say. This CW show will feature Barry Allen taking to the streets in his most modern uniform. For those of you that’ve not watched "Arrow" - aka "Green Arrow" on the network, this is a spin-off series.
This week we’re having a peek at the SDCC cosplay universe with as large a collection of images as we dare drop in a single article. What you’ll see here are a surprising amount of new faces, some real classics, and some of the most intricate costumes we’ve ever seen at a comic convention before. And what’s more - they’re coming from all directions!
This week we’re to understand - straight from the source - that the Batman 3 LEGO game will be rolling out with none other than Adam West. The original king of camp will be lending his voice to "Classic Batman" - though it’s not quite clear yet if Classic Batman is the same character as "1960’s Batman."
Jodorowsky probably won’t be as impressed with what might have been for a doused Superman movie as he is with his own lost Dune, but the premise is the same. "The Death of Superman Lives" is a documentary that’ll be bringing to light the short-lived production of the Superman movie that wasn’t. The one with Nicolas Cage as Superman.
Tetsuya Nomura, head of Kingdom Hearts and designer for Final Fantasy, has redesigned Batman. Nomura has stepped forward with the first in a series of action figures which represent complete redesigns of classic comic characters. This strange beast of a Batman summons memories of Todd McFarlane’s vision for SPAWN, or the Batman/SPAWN crossover collection. But more than that, this is an imagining of Batman we’d have expected to find as a boss in an epic RPG.
There’s a whole collection of LEGO sets and minifigs appearing this week at San Diego Comic Con, perhaps the most exciting of which is the Batman Tumbler. This Batmobile is a reproduction of the Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy. This means you’ve seen it before if you’ve seen any of the most recent Batman films to have been released in theaters.
So you say a crime-fighting hero wouldn’t actually wear the same outfit as a body-building champion from the 1950s? So you’re suggesting that Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, would probably opt for some real armor rather than skin-hugging material with little to no protection against the elements? Batgirl #35 has your back - and a new smartphone, too.
When a film is as full of hype as the upcoming Batman V Superman film, even the full title of the film is summoned as newsworthy. Today the folks responsible for continuing to fan the flame have revealed that title. The movie will be called Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
