BMW Motorrad VISION NEXT 100 motorcycle : no helmet needed

BMW Motorrad VISION NEXT 100 motorcycle : no helmet needed

Truth be told, concept cars these days are almost a dime a dozen, though some do manage to make our jaws drop once in a while. But a concept motor bike? Not exactly your standard fare. But at its "Iconic Impulses" exhibition in Los Angeles, that is exactly what BMW is showing off. Simply calling it by its name, the Motorrad VISION NEXT 100 doesn’t really do it justice. Whereas most concept vehicles look 5 or so years into the future, this motorcycle was designed with decades in mind. Almost ironically, it look more like a throwback to decades past.

BMW Connected service adds Alexa and, finally, Android

BMW Connected service adds Alexa and, finally, Android

The smart car market hasn’t exactly settled along the usual Google vs Apple camps and some do take both sides, if not their own. When BMW launched its BMW Connected service early this year, it seemed to have actually put up a stake on Apple’s iOS side of the fence. Apparently, it was only bidding its time. In its new update, the service finally gets its first Android app. But that’s not the only thing that’s new, as BMW Connected is also gaining support for the Apple Watch 2 and Amazon’s Alexa.

e-MINI and BMW 3 Series EV tipped as Tesla’s Model 3 looms

Struggling to sell its divisive vision of electrified cars and wary of Tesla's Model 3, BMW plans a trio of EV versions of some of its best-selling mainstream gas models, sources now claim. The German automaker has already embraced electric powertrains in a number of models, but its distinctive - and not universally appreciated - i Series of cars have failed to capture drivers' attention in the same way that rivals have managed.

The new car will hit dealerships across the US this month, BMW says, with an $89,100 sticker (plus $995 destination), undercutting the existing 750i by around $10k while also wearing a - slight - green halo.

BMW Connected arrives this month with Alexa skill to come

Bristol Bullet has the 4.8L V8 heart of a BMW

Bristol Bullet has the 4.8L V8 heart of a BMW

I am a sucker for British roadsters, I always have been. I blame the Triumph Spitfire for the affliction. A new sports car has surfaced from a firm called Bristol Cars and it's a pure British roadster with a German heart. The car is called the Bristol Bullet and it's dead sexy. The car has very flat and square sides, but it is very attractive.

2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i Review

2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i Review

Decry me as a wagon-loving European rabble-rouser if you must, but BMW's decision to give the X1 a crossover-style makeover felt like a misstep. The original X1 always felt like a clandestine feint by the German automaker: yes, it bore the badge of an X Series, but its 3 Series underpinnings were more wagon than America's tastes generally lean toward.

The over the top Russian guy you see in the video here is Boosted Boris, he's clearly a car guy. He decided to take his Pokemon Go hunting to Germany's famed Nurburgring, otherwise known as "The Green Hell." The track is very challenging, very fast, and has lots of traffic. In fact there is so much traffic that there is a famed Ring Taxi service that will hoon you around the track in the passenger seat of various BMW rides.

2016 Lexus GS F in Super-Sedan Showdown with BMW, Audi, and Cadillac

The 2016 Lexus GS F breaks new ground for the Japanese luxury brand, giving it its fire-breathing V8 mid-size sport sedan in a bid to contend with the European all-stars that have long dominated this corner of the automotive industry. At first glance, everything appears to be in order: 467 horsepower from a 5.0-liter eight-cylinder monster (shared with the RC F coupe), the ability to sprint to 60-mph in a quick 4.5 seconds, and the kind of extroverted good looks that do the companies trapezoidal grille justice (especially when ordered in eye-searing orange).
