Guitar Hero DLC – Dragonforce three-pack

I must say that I’m impressed by Activision. They have announced yet another track pack for Guitar Hero III. Granted, it won’t be out until next month, but it’s definitely good to see that they haven’t given up on DLC. So what could possibly follow up the Virtuoso Pack? Apparently only a trio of Dragonforce tracks.

Guitar Hero DLC – Virtuoso Pack

With Guitar Hero: World Tour coming later this year, I’d all but given up on having much more DLC for GH III. Sure, we know about the new Metallica album that’s coming, but that’s probably it, right? Nope, Activision is still churning out new tracks (albeit slowly) for their current game. Hit the jump for the list of tracks in the upcoming Virtuoso Pack.

Rock Band Weekly DLC – NIN and Shinedown

Well, E3 is over, which means this week will no doubt be a little slower on the major gaming announcements. However, you can always count on the guys at Harmonix to bring us a little something new every week. This week they’ve given us some Nine Inch Nails and Shinedown to look forward to.

Metallica to release Death Magnetic album as DLC for GH III, IV

I have to admit that my love for Metallica has been waning over the past several years. Not only has their music not been as great, but ever since they started promoting the suing of fans for downloading music, I’ve just not been as excited by their music. One place that I still enjoy hearing it is in both Guitar Hero and Rock Band.  Well it looks like I might actually purchase their latest album, this time for Guitar Hero, marking the first time I’ve cared to obtain an entire Metallica album in a decade or so.

Rock Band Weekly DLC – The Who

The week of E3 is always big (even if the show is getting smaller and smaller with each passing year), so this week’s DLC should be equally as large. We’ve been expecting a full album from The Who, however, due to some missing masters, we’ll just have to settle for an awesome compilation of Who tracks.

Rock Band Weekly DLC – Double shot of Chili Peppers and Rush

This week’s DLC update brings us a curious mix of Rush and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Rather than the usual trio of songs that we’re used to seeing, we get two songs from each band. But that’s not the only strange thing about this week’s content. Hit the jump to see what I mean.

Top Gun Anthem to be released for Guitar Hero III

How many of you have seen the movie Top Gun? Now, of those people, how many of you had aspirations of one day flying your own F-14 Tomcat? If you answered yes to the first question but no to the second, you’re lying. Everyone wanted to fly a jet after that movie. That, and buy a motorcycle. Well since most of us didn’t actually live out that dream, we’ll just have to settle for downloading the movie’s theme song on Guitar Hero III.

Rock Band Weekly DLC – Crüefest

A little while back it was announced that Rock Band was going to be rocking Crüefest, which kicks off today. So it only makes sense for Harmonix to release a few Crüefest-themed tracks, right? Hit the jump to see what will be available for download today.

Free WoW Track available for Guitar Hero III today

It seems that the merger between Activision and Blizzard is already beginning to bear fruit. So how does one combine two of the largest titles from each company into something cool for the masses? You release a World of Warcraft song for Guitar Hero.

Rock Band Weekly DLC – Weezer and Pixies

Today is Tuesday, which usually means a three-pack of songs to download for Rock Band. However, they’ve decided to change things up this week by not only giving you a trio of tracks, but they’re also putting up an entire album from the Pixies. Hit the jump for the details.

More Offspring coming soon to Rock Band

I was born in the 80’s, which means I did most of my growing up in the 90’s listening to alternative music. I’ve really been happy that Rock Band has been bringing back some of the songs I know and love so that a new generation can really enjoy them. I listened to a good bit of Offspring back in the day, which is why I’m happy to hear that they’re going to be adding more tracks to the game in the future.

Rock Band Weekly DLC – Avenged Sevenfold, Offspring and Crooked X

I’m starting to like this trend of seeing new music released on Rock Band at the same time it is released to the general public for purchase. The latest track to follow this trend comes to us from The Offspring. Check out the list of tracks available today after the jump.

  • Avenged Sevenfold “Afterlife”
  • Avenged Sevenfold“Critical Acclaim”
  • The Offspring “Hammerhead”
  • Crooked X “Rock ‘n’ Roll Dream”

There is no track pack this week, so you’ll have to pick and choose which tracks you want. The first three listed are going to set you back the usual $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360), while the Crooked X track will only run $.99 (80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).
