Vizio has revealed its 2018 line-up of 4K HDR TVs, along with its newest SmartCast OS that bakes Amazon Alexa and Google Chromecast support directly into each set. At the top of the 2018 range sits the Vizio P-Series Quantum 4K HDR Smart TV, a 65-inch set promising the company's brightest picture yet.
Hitachi is onboard to make Roku smart TVs, the company has announced. This upcoming fall, Hitachi will offer a line of Roku TVs with both HD and Ultra HD 4K resolution, all of them with various sized displays and Roku’s own OS. The televisions, as with the TCL and Hisense versions that have been available for a while, will give users access to Roku’s streaming channels while eliminating the need to have a separate set-top-box or Roku Streaming Stick.

Netflix has enabled Super HD video for all of its streaming subscribers, having trialled the low-compression system earlier this year in an ISP-dependent test run. Then, Netflix only offered the service - which is 1080p Full HD, but using less compression for better quality visuals - to those viewers using an ISP with a direct connection to the company's own servers. Now, however, it has lifted that limitation.
Samsung Techwin, maker of security and surveillance devices, has unveiled the SmartCam HD PRO, a WiFi IP surveillance camera offering 1080p Full HD video recording and a 128-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. With the SmartCam HD, users will be able to remotely monitor various premises with a mobile device via an Android and iOS app.
