Pokemon fighting game Pokken Tournament is getting an official Wii U controller

The controller you see in the image above may not look like it, but it's actually for the Wii U. The thing is, it's meant to be used with one game in particular: Pokken Tournament, the Pokemon arcade fighting game that is headed to Nintendo's home console next year. It's a wired controller and is notably missing any analog sticks, but those are unnecessary when it comes to dedicated fighting game fans, who prize smooth directional pads and zero latency button presses above all else.

Just over a month ago it was hinted that the hit game Minecraft was finally coming Nintendo's Wii U console, one of the few platforms not to have a version of the title. A listing for the game was discovered on the website for PEGI, Europe's game ratings association, and scheduled for the next day was one of Nintendo's Direct livestream announcements, making it easy to believe an announcement was inbound. Well, Nintendo said nothing about Minecraft at the time, but now they've confirmed the game is coming to Wii U, even sharing the release date.

Nintendo Wii U and 3DS gamers in the US now have a new option when it comes to paying for digital game downloads: Amazon.com The internet shopping giant has just launched a digital download store dedicated to Nintendo's platforms, but it's much better than paying for a game, getting a redeemable code via email, and then entering it on a console's eShop. Users can make their purchase on Amazon, check-out, and then click on a link to the Nintendo Network that will automatically register the content as purchased for their system.
