ASUS ROG Phone 5 DxOMark audio review leaks some details

Huawei just revealed its next foldable phone and first impressions have been lukewarm if not downright disappointing. Fortunately, that's not the only big phone that might be around the corner. No, there won't be a new foldable much less a foldable coming really soon but ASUS will be trying to make a big splash in about two weeks with a more regular powerhouse. The ASUS ROG Phone 5's arrival is pretty much confirmed thanks to DxOMark's very early review of its audio capabilities, along with some interesting tidbits to boot.

ASUS ROG Phone 4 or 5 design could have some big changes

Samsung kicked off 2021 with the powerhouse that is the Galaxy S21 Ultra but, truth be told, it still doesn't represent the pinnacle of smartphone performance. To see those, you'd have to look towards high-end gaming smartphones that try to push mobile hardware to their limits without burning your hands or your house down. We might not have long to wait as there might be not one but two such gaming smartphones coming in a month or two, including one from ASUS that seems to be mixing things up a bit.

Two of these laptops are refreshes to the ROG Zephyrus G14 and G15 lines, and while we don't know a ton about these new laptops just yet, we do have an idea of how they'll improve over 2020's models. For starters, the new G14 will be running an RTX 3060 under the hood, while the G15 will boast a 3080 - or at least configuration options that include both of those cards.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 teardown has some good news for gamers

ASUS ROG Phone 3 teardown has some good news for gamers

Razer may have started the whole gaming smartphone trend but it seems that ASUS is the one that's taking it to the extreme. Of course, ASUS' ROG Phones have also been the most expensive among its peers so buyers will want to know they're getting they're money's worth. That will partly depend on how well the phone performs which, in turn, depends on how cool it can stay under pressure. Fortunately, JerryRigEverything's Zack Nelson was willing to sacrifice the ROG Phone 3's screen to find the answer.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 battery and accessories sound too familiar

ASUS ROG Phone 3 battery and accessories sound too familiar

It's almost ironic that just when gaming has become even more pervasive, gaming-centric smartphones have seemingly gone under the radar. Compared to last year, we aren't hearing much about these souped-up handsets, especially not from Razer. Lenovo has yet to unveil its first-ever Legion-branded smartphone and ASUS has yet to launch its third stab at that still niche market. If you've been holding your breath for the ROG Phone 3, though, you might want to start breathing again. If these new official and unofficial details are any indications, we won't be seeing anything spectacularly new this year.

ASUS Zephyrus Duo 15 price confirmed: Weird comes at a cost

The ASUS Republic of Gamers Zephyrus Duo 15 has two displays. There's the standard display in the lid of the laptop, then there's another display (another touchscreen display) just above the keyboard. Both displays work with the same operating system, and both operate together. This isn't the first time we've seen a similar sort of machine, but it is definitely the most elegant execution of a dual-screen laptop such as this.

ASUS ROG Phone 2 camera performance is disappointing says DxOMark

Following the footsteps of the Razer Phone, a few phone makers have started carving a niche gaming smartphone market that combined the usual high-end specs you'd see in premium flagships with a few gaming-centric touches. The ASUS ROG Phone, both the first and the current second-gen model, is arguably the most expensive of the group but while the ROG Phone 2 does have the makings of a topnotch gaming phone, it seems to have missed out on one of the most important aspects of modern phones today: the cameras.

ASUS ROG and NVIDIA reveal 360Hz G-SYNC display made for esports

While graphics cards tend to get a lot of attention when it comes to PC gaming hardware, enthusiasts and pro players alike will tell you that the quality of your display is very important as well. You don’t have to go far to find a PC gamer singing the praises of high refresh rate displays, with many of them using either a 144Hz or 240Hz monitor instead of the more commonly seen 60Hz monitor. NVIDIA and ASUS ROG are taking things one step further today by announcing a 360Hz display that’s compatible with G-Sync.

ASUS ROG Phone 2 Android 10 Beta starts now

The ROG Phone and its current successor the ROG Phone 2 arguably represent the spirit of PC gaming transferred to mobile with their looks, specs, and accessories. They are also arguably the most expensive of the current generation of gaming smartphones and may also be burdened by ASUS' track record when it comes to Android updates. ASUS seems to be turning over a new leaf when it started the beta program for the ZenFone 6 last week. And exactly as many hoped, the ROG Phone 2's turn has come.
