With Windows 10, Oculus Rift will work to "unlock the potential for millions of developers to create amazing experiences," so said Phil Spencer. Streaming PC content to the Oculus Rift is just one part of this equation, too. This partnership includes a pairing of the Oculus Rift to the Xbox One, as well. Gleaning information from the Oculus Rift CV1 “leak”

This morning a set of images of the final version of the Oculus Rift consumer version (CV1) were leaked. While at first it appeared that these images were finalized photos of the headset set to be released next year and revealed in full tomorrow, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey took to Reddit to confirm the "placeholder" nature of the images. In short - they look radical, they look great, but they're not what you're going to be buying in 2016. They're close, but no cigar.

What you're going to see at this special event for the headset isn't as important as who will be there - who will be presenting the first apps and games for the Oculus Rift as it's set for release in early 2016.

Oculus VR recommends spec for their first consumer model PC-based Oculus Rift headset. These are the bits and pieces of PC power you'll need to run the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset - or what's recommended to run the machine, at least. If you've got a PC with less processing power than what you're about to see here, turn back now. Or forever hold your pixels. The image you see here is also the newest render (or very, VERY clean photo) of the consumer-model Rift.
