Netgear Orbi outdoor satellite takes your WiFi network outside

If you need to get a solid WiFi connection to the far corners of your home, mesh networking is generally the solution. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a new recall involving the power adapters included with the Netgear Arlo outdoor security cameras. The recall, which is dated December 5, 2017, is due to the fire hazard these adapters pose, the CPSC explained in a release. The outdoor cameras are designed to be weatherproof in order to withstand the elements, but the power adapter fails to meet the same standards, the agency states.

NETGEAR Wi-Fi products get Circle with Disney parental control

NETGEAR Wi-Fi products get Circle with Disney parental control

Most mobile devices and operating systems these days include some form of parental control. Sooner or later, however, this per-device system becomes inconvenient and sometimes even ineffective. The best way to monitor, check, and curb Internet use is really at the source, which, in the case of a home network, is often the router. That is why NETGEAR and Circle Media have teamed up to install the Circle with Disney parental control system directly on NETGEAR’s Wi-Fi systems and routers.

Now you can fix your Netgear router vulnerability with firmware update

A few days back we talked about a serious security vulnerability in some of the popular Netgear routers. This security flaw allowed nefarious users to use unauthenticated web pages to pass form input directly to the command-line interface. That gave the potential for a remote attacker to inject arbitrary commands that could be executed by the system.

These Netgear routers can be hacked: What you need to do

Netgear has detailed a new security vulnerability in three of its Nighthawk routers, and leaving that vulnerability unchecked may lead to some particularly nasty consequences for users. The vulnerability affects Nighthawk R6400, R7000, and R8000 routers, and could potentially allow attackers to inject arbitrary commands that are then carried out by the system. For the moment, Netgear hasn't offered a fix for the issue.
