Canon have outed their latest digital camera, the Canon Rebel T2i DSLR, the new flagship of their Rebel range.  An 18.7-megapixel CMOS shooter with Full HD 1080p 30fps video capture, the Rebel T2i supports ISO ranges from 100 to 6400 and has a 63-zone Dual Layer Metering System together with Canon's DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor.

Canon's latest DSLR, the EOS-1D Mark IV, has emerged, and it's got the Nikon D3S firmly in its sights.  The EOS-1D Mark IV packs a 16-megapixel sensor, 45-point autofocus system, 10fps continuous shooting and 1080p Full HD video recording, together with not one but two of the company's DIGIC 4 imaging processors.  Like Nikon, too, Canon are waxing about their ISO range: the Mark IV boasts up to 102,400 ISO, though it's more usually found playing in the 100 to 12,800 bracket.

Nikon D3S DSLR is new FX-format flagship

Nikon have outed their latest DSLR, the Nikon D3S, described as their FX-format flagship and packing a new CMOS 12.1-megapixel sensor.  The D3S can shoot 720p HD video at 30fps and boasts a broad 200 to 12,800 ISO range (extendable to 102,400, in fact).  LetsGoDigital have already played with it in the wild, and they're particularly impressed with the new 51-point AF system and the ability to grab screenshots from video clips as stills, all on-device.

It's not  just Nikon's flagship D300S new today; the company has also unveiled an entry-level DSLR, the Nikon D3000, aimed at getting new photographers addicted.  The 10.2-megapixel camera uses an 11-point autofocus system, DX-format sensor and EXPEED image processing, but the most interesting feature for beginners will be the Guide mode.  Not just an automatic setup, Guide mode promises to explain why different settings should be chosen; yes, that's right, it's a teacher trapped inside your DSLR.

Nikon D300S DSLR announced: 12.3MP and 24fps 720p HD video

Nikon have announced the D300S, its new DX-format DSLR flagship.  The 12.3-megapixel DX-sensor camera has 51-point autofocus and can shoot 7 frames per second; however it can also record 24fps 720p high-definition video with contrast-detect AF (while in Tripod mode).  Nikon have added a stereo microphone input and in-camera movie editing for clip trimming.

Canon 5D Mark II new firmware enables video manual controls

Wow, I never thought that would happen and I think I just wet my pants. Canon has today revealed a big upgrade to EOS DLSR 5D Mark II, unleashing the long-awaited manual controls on video capture mode! The new firmware, to be released next week, will permit manual adjustments on aperture, ISO as well as shutter speed when recording movie – a huge deal for DSLR video fanatics if you ask me.
