Electrify America has revealed how it will more than double its EV charger network in the US and Canada, aiming to have more than 1,800 locations open in North America by the end of 2025. Dubbed its "Boost Plan," the strategy for the Volkswagen-backed charging company should make it easier to find up to a 350 kW charger, which can add dozens or more miles of range to an EV in just minutes.
Volkswagen is reportedly hunting an investor for Electrify America, as it looks to share the cost of expanding its Tesla Supercharger network rival. The automaker established the public charging company in late 2016 as part of its grand mea culpa following the emissions scandal, where Volkswagen Group vehicles had been found to use so-called "defeat devices" that misled air pollution testing.

Jeep and Electrify America are teaming up to put EV chargers in wilder locations, helping drivers of the upcoming 2021 Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid to top-up their batteries while they explore the great outdoors.
