CoD: Modern Warfare Remastered standalone release date announced

Arguably, the most appealing part of last year's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was the pack-in Modern Warfare Remastered. The remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare got a lot of people excited, but up until now, it's only been available in a bundle with Infinite Warfare. If you were disappointed by that, then cheer up, because Activision has just announced that Modern Warfare Remastered will get a standalone release.

Overwatch update improves loot box drops, Hearthstone follows suit

Overwatch update improves loot box drops, Hearthstone follows suit

While Overwatch has seen immense success, one of its more divisive features has been its loot box system. Though Overwatch runs $40 for the standard version on PC and $60 on consoles, players can only unlock new cosmetic items through a F2P-like loot box system. These loot boxes are fairly rare in-game - you get one every time your account levels up, but otherwise you need to purchase them with real-world money - and with that in mind, it really stings when you get cosmetics items you already have.

The best free Netflix alternatives you’ve never heard of (mid-2017)

Somewhere in the vast expanse between Netflix and piracy lies a slew of free, legal streaming services, some more appealing than others. These free services are supported by advertisements -- there's no free lunch, after all -- but they're a solid option for anyone who wants to ditch cable without racking up a similar bill. You've probably heard of the most popular ad-supported service, Crackle, but how about these options?

Newegg drops PlayStation VR price, but only briefly

Newegg drops PlayStation VR price, but only briefly

Though Sony spent a lot of time at E3 2017 focusing on its heavy hitters coming to PS4, it devoted some of its press conference to incoming games for the PlayStation VR as well. Games like Moss, The Inpatient, and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR definitely have some PS4 owners excited, but considering the PSVR costs as much as a PS4 Pro, that might serve as a barrier to entry for those who would otherwise like to give VR a spin. Newegg seems to have something to say about that, discounting the PSVR today through its eBay store.

Diablo 3’s Rise of the Necromancer release date finally revealed

It also ships with a handful of other perks for those who choose to shell out Blizzard's $14.99 asking price.

XSTATION lets you have both an Xbox One and PlayStation 4

The console wars are often drawn between the Xbox and PlayStation camps (sorry Nintendo), but, whether you'd like to admit it or not, there will always be games from the other side of the fence you wish you could play on your favorite console. Sony E3 2017: The biggest PlayStation 4 announcements

Sony E3 2017: The biggest PlayStation 4 announcements

Unlike its closest competitor, Microsoft, Sony didn't have any new hardware to present at E3, which means that it was all about the games for the PlayStation 4. There were plenty to talk about too, with headliners like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, God of War, and Days Gone. It was an exciting show for PlayStation owners, but if you missed it, here are the biggest announcements Sony made last night.

Star Wars Battlefront II detailed: The Last Jedi content, offline play, more

Perhaps the biggest game shown during EA's E3 press conference today was Star Wars Battlefront II. The first game in this Battlefront revival showed a lot of promise, but was ultimately criticized for its lack of content. EA is looking to address those criticisms with Battlefront II, announcing today that it will finally feature a single-player campaign.

EA announces A Way Out, a new game that’s entirely co-op

EA's E3 2017 press conference is underway, and though we're seeing a lot of what we expected (sports games, mostly), there was at least one surprise during the show. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons director Josef Fares took the stage to introduce us to his new studio and that studio's first game, A Way Out. A Way Out seems to be a rather unique game, much like Brothers was at the time, as it'll be a purely co-op experience.

PS4’s Days of Play sale sees big discounts on major games

PS4’s Days of Play sale sees big discounts on major games

Just ahead of E3 2017, Sony has kicked off its Days of Play sale on PlayStation Network. The idea we're working with here is "quality over quantity" - there aren't a ton of games being discounted, but the ones that are on sale rank among PlayStation 4's biggest recent games. Because of that, this is the first time we're seeing significant discounts on some of these titles.

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is the ’90s revival no one wanted

The 1990s gave us a lot of great video games and a lot of great video game icons to go along with them. Sonic the Hedgehog, Cloud Strife, Pikachu, Star Fox, and Crash Bandicoot all come to mind. When reflecting on the great characters that came out of the '90s, Bubsy the Cat certainly doesn't make the cut, but that isn't stopping Accolade from trying to bring him back.
