PlayStation 4 update 6.0 was a giant disappointment

PlayStation 4 update 6.0 was a giant disappointment

PlayStation 4 owners fired up their consoles today, only to discover a surprise update to version 6.0. Such a nice round number would usually accompany a nice big update, one packing at least one major feature and more than a couple decent tweaks. That wasn't the case, though...in fact, the update didn't include any new features and instead offered a changelog with a single phrase.

The Last Remnant Remastered heads to PS4 this year

The Last Remnant Remastered heads to PS4 this year

For a 10-year-old game, The Last Remnant sure has been in the news quite a bit lately. Earlier this month, Square Enix delisted the game from Steam and other platforms. At the time, the company didn't give a reason for delisting The Last Remnant, but today, we have a better idea of what may have motivated the move. As it turns out, Square Enix is planning to re-release The Last Remnant all these years later.

Spider-Man’s New Game Plus mode has us excited

Spider-Man’s New Game Plus mode has us excited

Spider-Man, by most accounts, seems to be one of the best games released this year. It isn't a particularly long game, however, as some players have already managed to complete it even though we're not even a week out from release. Those players will soon have reason to return to the game, as Insomniac has confirmed that it's working on a New Game Plus mode for Spider-Man.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer seems impossibly detailed

The newest Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer shows details that'll knock you off your feet. Before you go any further, you'll want to take note of the PEGI 18 rating - that means it's not for kids. This game isn't meant for kids in any capacity, as it were. Not necessarily for an over-abundance of person-on-person violence, but for the constant potential for death of the main character.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is heading to PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is heading to PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Those of you who remember Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will likely remember it as a quirky offshoot of the mainline series that made some bold multiplayer decisions. The game launched as an exclusive for the Nintendo Gamecube back in 2003, and it featured four-player co-operative play, which was strange enough for the Final Fantasy series. Even stranger was what was required if you wanted to dive into that multiplayer mode, as each player needed their own Game Boy Advance.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition now on PS4, Xbox One, soon on Switch

Final Fantasy XV was the first “offline” Final Fantasy title in a long time and it changed some things that were considered staples in the popular franchise. The risks paid off with the title earning not a few accolades. It even got a mobile port of the game, which later became available on Windows 10. Now going full circle, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition has landed on consoles to give you almost the same boy band road trip experience, this time in bite-sized form.

Sony’s latest Fortnite cross-play excuse is a stupid one

Sony’s latest Fortnite cross-play excuse is a stupid one

For a couple of months now, Fortnite players on PS4 have been locked out of their Epic accounts on other consoles. While those players can still use their Epic accounts to play Fortnite on PC and mobile, they can't on Nintendo Switch ot Xbox One. That restriction has been a major point of frustration for Fortnite fans who own more than one console, and thus far, Sony hasn't given us much hope that the problem will be resolved in a way that benefits players.

Now that we're a few weeks out from the launch of No Man's Sky NEXT, it's clear that the major content update was a turning point for the game. By participating in these events, you'll have the opportunity to earn new cosmetics, whether those are new base building components or customization options for your character.

Battlefield 5 release date: Delayed! Here’s why

Battlefield 5 release date: Delayed! Here’s why

EA Games and DICE just revealed that they would be delaying the release of Battlefield V (or 5, however you want to put it), until a later date. The Battlefield 5 Beta seems to be rolling out on schedule, sort of, by appearing in Open Beta form starting on September 6th. That's soon, and now sadly far away from the final release date - which again, was ruthlessly delayed by the dastardly devs that wish to do nothing but good things to the game before it's ready for full release.

September’s free PlayStation Plus games feature some big names

Sony has revealed the games that will be offered for free through PlayStation Plus next month, and it seems that PS4 owners are in for a treat. The free PS4 games for September include Destiny 2 and God of War III: Remastered, which is particularly exciting because we don't always see big-name titles offered through PS Plus like this. Even better is that Destiny 2 is going live a little bit early.
