Netflix, Hulu, and Yahoo Screen are some of the bigger names in the new business of television programming without a traditional paid-television service. Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) will be joining these cord-cutting services soon. SCE is launching a new online TV service called Playstation Vue which will be available through the Playsation Network to Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 console users. Sony wants to change the way users experience the Playstation Network. They've expanded their service from offering games to including a Spotify service for music. The Playstation Vue will now be adding cable-free TV programming to the mix.

That's right, Ian Malcolm fans, you're going to see everyone's favorite Chaos Theorist appear in LEGO form. In the new LEGO Jurassic World game, at least. This new game is set to be released alongside a new Avengers LEGO game this year, starting in June with the Xbox One. You'll also see this game released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC soon after. You'll also see versions released for PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3Ds, and Windows PC - through Steam, most likely.

This morning Visceral Games announced that the next release of Battlefield Hardline will be in the form of a new Beta. Visceral Games suggests that "we consider this to be a real beta - we need your feedback on balance, economy, and to help identify and iron out the last remaining bugs." This beta will be open to all those who wish to participate on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. There won't be any cross-play action between PC and game consoles, but there may be cross-pollination between console generations.

This week the folks at Sony Network Entertainment International have announced a strategic partnership with Spotify on a global level. According to Sony, Spotify's streaming music network will be pushed to PlayStation Music as an exclusive partner. Spotify on PlayStation Music will be sent out to 41 markets globally (initially), moving first with PlayStation consoles and Sony Xperia tablets and smartphones. Users with PlayStation Network wallet accounts will be able to subscribe to Spotify directly with this setup, bypassing the need for a separate account.

This week the folks at Sony have revealed the first several games that'll be pushed to the public in their PlayStation Plus users for free. This includes The Swapper and Infamous: First Light for PlayStation 4. It also includes Prototype 2 and Duck Tales Remastered for PlayStation 3. PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) users will be treated to Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition as well as the game "Whoa Dave!" This should be a smooth first at-bat for the PlayStation Plus program for the start of the year 2015.

This morning it was made clear that Sony was having trouble with their PlayStation Network. Meanwhile Microsoft was having trouble keeping Xbox Live online - and the hacker group Lizard Squad claimed responsibility. According to reports throughout the day, it would appear that the Xbox Live system had largely repaired problems by around 10AM Central Time - with another spike near 2PM Central Time - with uptime returning again here closer to 5PM Central Time. Sony's PlayStation Network saw problems from around midnight until 10AM Central Time, and again over the past several hours leading up to 5PM Central Time.

The Grand Theft Auto universe is getting a couple of big additions this week, one in the form of a Holiday Fun update to Grand Theft Auto V, the other a platform-first. The platform-first is Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars, which will be coming to Android devices of all kinds. This game was previously released for Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as iOS for iPhone and iPad. Now it comes to Android smartphones, tablets, Amazon Fire TV, and Google Nexus Player.

Sony just finished its standalone PlayStation Experience media event in Las Vegas this weekend, and it unloaded a ton of teasers on gamers. Not all of them good, unfortunately. But if you weren't keeping tabs on the press conference, you need not fret as there is plenty of time to catch up before the games hit stores next year. As to what those games are, it's a wide collection of sequels to iconic titles like Street Fighter and Yakuza, as well as a bunch of new inventions from indie developers.

This morning a trailer was leaked for Street Fighter 5. This trailer was almost certainly set to be released in full this weekend, during the PlayStation Experience event series in Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead, we're seeing the bits and pieces of this next-generation release appear here, in super-short mode. Capcom continues to helm, and the game appears to mix some futuristic backing effects with previous-yen fighting animatics. This is also very likely an early look at the game, with final graphics not yet shown.
