ASUS' appealing little Lamborghini Eee PC VX6 notebook, which we took a shine to back at the company's holiday showcase, has gone up for sale in the UK. The 12.1-inch ultraportable packs an Intel Atom D525 dual-core 1.8GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics with Optimus support, along with a 250GB hard-drive and HDMI connectivity.

The line between a netbook and a notebook used to be pretty straightforward, but with Intel's increasingly powerful Atom processors and NVIDIA's ambitious Ion-powered Optimus graphics, the distinction is more blurred. Typifying this new breed of netbook is ASUS' Eee PC 1215N, a 12.1-inch Seashell-series machine that could well be considered a true ultraportable despite its roughly $500 price tag. Acer has updated its AspireRevo nettop in the shape of the new AR3700 model, throwing in Intel's latest dual-core Atom D525 processor that, as before, is paired with NVIDIA Ion graphics. There's also 2GB of DDR3 memory and a 250GB drive, plus an HDMI port for outputting up to 1080p HD.
Subcompact form factors are the next big thing, so to speak. Packing in all the great features into a small box has everyone excited -- it means that their living room isn't plagued with huge pieces of technology, making everything look cluttered. When is a netbook not really a netbook? Why, when it gets a desktop version of Intel's Atom CPU, has notebook-style Optimus graphics, and - arguably - a larger display than 10.1-inches. By those counts, ASUS should be calling their Eee PC 1215N a 12.1-inch ultraportable not a netbook, but then they might put the price up from $499 and, according to Laptop, then we'd be missing out on something of a bargain.

Asus has more nettops than you can shake a stick out along with one of the largest catalogs of netbooks on the market. The company generally crams the latest tech into a few of its models and a new version of its EeeBox has surfaced that sports new hardware.
Bad news if you were waiting to pick up Acer's Aspire One 532G, the NVIDIA Ion 2 toting 10.1-inch netbook the company quietly unveiled back at MWC in February. According to Blogeee, Acer has cancelled the netbook; they're suggesting that "technical problems" left Acer and NVIDIA uncertain that the performance potential of the AO532G would be in keeping with expectations, and so they pulled the plug altogether.
MvixUSA have unveiled their latest home media systems, and the HDHome raises the game from basic streamers of the past and delivers a full Windows 7 HTPC experience. The Mvix HDHome Media Center is available in two sizes - S2, with two hot-swappable HDD bays, and S4 with four bays - each offering a slot-loading Blu-ray player, embedded TV tuner, RAID, WiFi a/b/g/n and HDMI.
ASUS' Eee PC 1201PN netbook has gone up for preorder at Amazon Germany, with three versions of the 12-inch ultraportable being on offer. Priced at €479 ($600), the netbook packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard-drive, as well as NVIDIA Ion graphics (though no NVIDIA Optimus automatic switching).
Lenovo's IdeaCentre Q150 takes its Q110 predecessor and brings it up to date with Intel's latest nettop Atom processors, throwing out the old Atom 330 and replacing it with either the 1.6GHz single-core D410 or dual-core D510. They're still paired with optional NVIDIA Ion graphics for up to 1080p Full HD via the HDMI output, in a form factor that measures just 0.82-inches wide.
More details on the ASUS Eee PC 1215N are seeping out, ahead of the netbook's expected debut on May 13th, and it's shaping up to be a pretty impressive ultraportable. According to AllAboutEeePC the 1215N will indeed have the new dual-core 1.5GHz Pine Trail Atom N500 processor expected to hit production in July, together with NVIDIA's Ion GPU. However, unlike the Eee PC 1215PN, the 1215N will support NVIDIA Optimus for automatic graphics switching.
It's been a little over a month since ASUS made their Eee Top ET2010 range official, and the 20-inch multitouch all-in-ones have finally made it to shelves. Fresh to the UK today, the ET2010 range consists of two main models, the ET2010PNT and ET2010AGT, each of which has two versions. The PNT units use Intel's Atom D510 CPU and NVIDIA Ion graphics, while the AGT units get AMD's Athlon II X2 250u and ATI Radeon HD 5470/5471 graphics; all have a 500GB hard-drive, 2GB of RAM and a tray-loading DVD burner.
