Verizon Xperia Z2 tablet may be all they've got

While we've heard rumors of the Verizon Xperia Z2 coming soon, it would appear that the company is bringing their tablet from this lineup instead. We first saw the Xperia Z2 Tablet earlier this year at MWC 2014, where we were impressed by its ability to remain relevant in the face of the still-dominant iPad.

What we've got here is a fully waterproof piece of machinery not unlike its close cousin, the Xperia Z2 phone. This includes IP58 protection certification, which means dust proof and water resistant over 1 meter and 30 minutes.

The display up front is 10.1-inches large with 1200 x 1920 pixels, bringing on a 224PPI density. Inside you've got 16GB of media storage as well as 3GB of RAM alongside a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 processor. That's quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU for high-powered excellence.

This device is going to be an exclusive for Verizon at first – at this point there's no word whether this exclusive will last well into the future. Pricing information coming soon!

UPDATE: This device will be available for pre-order starting on the 10th of July, 2014. You'll find availability starting on the 17th of this month, for $599 USD outright or $499 with a 2-year contract. This device is readied for the public alongside Sony's Xperia Z2 off-contract as well as the Sony Smartband – have a peek!
