Three MacBook Pro models leaked before Apple event

On Thursday, Apple will hold another event to presumably reveal a set of new MacBook Pros. Obviously nothing is official until Apple makes it so, but there have been a number of leaks in the lead up to this event that all point to new MacBook models. Thanks to Russian regulators, we now have some more evidence to throw on the ever-growing pile that already exists.

Consomac (as reported by 9to5Mac) has uncovered a Eurasian Economic Commission filing made by Apple that suggests the company will reveal three new MacBooks at this event. The listing gives almost nothing in terms of actual details. In fact, it only lists three model numbers – A1706, A1707, and A1708 – and says that these are all "portable personal computers models."

So, while this doesn't give us any hints about what these new laptops will feature, it does nonetheless reinforce the notion that this event will be about the MacBook brand. The new MacBook Pro is said to come with a support for TouchID along with an LED touchscreen taking the place of normal function keys. This touch strip can contextually offer different buttons depending on the app the computer is running, reports have said.

While that new MacBook Pro will supposedly be revealed in 13 and 15-inch varieties, rumor has it that Apple will also launch a new 13 inch version of the Retina MacBook. That covers the third MacBook listed here, even though the main focus of the rumors leading up to the event have been on the MacBook Pro refresh.

We don't have much longer to wait before we find out in the rumors were true, as Apple's event will be going down on October 27. We'll be on Apple's campus that day to see what the company has in store, so keep it here at SlashGear for more. In the meantime, have a look through our Apple Hub to see all of the rumors you may have missed out on.
