The film 'Trolls World Tour' changed the way movies were released to the public, and AMC isn't happy about it. As the world dropped into quarantine, Comcast Corp.'s Universal Pictures decided to modify the way in which the new Trolls movie was delivered. Instead of an "only in theaters" release on April 10, or a postponing of release, Universal Pictures sent the film to digital rental platforms. The results were massively positive.

Redbox has struck a deal with Universal that will allow it to offer the studio's movie discs the same day they go on sale in retail stores. The deal eliminates an annoying delay that forced Redbox customers to search for the movie elsewhere or wait nearly a month until it arrived in the rental kiosks. As well, the deal allows Redbox On Demand, the digital service, to offer Universal Pictures movies the day they hit retail stores.

Furious 7, the latest movie in the Fast and Furious franchise, has set a new box office record, according to NBCUniversal. The new flick now holds the record for how fast it hit the $1 billion mark in worldwide box office grosses -- it did so in 17 days -- beating out some other big-name films. It also broke a new record for the studio, as well, which says this is its first movie to hit such a level of success during its first round in theaters.
