Aqua Blue PlayStation Vita comes exclusively to GameStop in November

While Japan has already seen the slimmer PlayStation Vita hardware released in a rainbow of assorted colors, here in the US we've only gotten black. That's about to change, as Sony has announced we're getting our own exclusive color: aqua blue. The new PS Vita option will still sell for the same $200 price, but will be exclusively available at GameStop starting in November.

PS Now finally comes to the PS Vita, God of War III in tow

PS Now finally comes to the PS Vita, God of War III in tow

Sony is slowly, very slowly, but also very surely, expanding the coverage of its game streaming platform. Almost a month after it has flipped the switch for, rather ironically, some of Samsung's Smart TVs, Sony is now enabling PlayStation Now on its own portable and TV devices, namely, the PS Vita and the PS TV. Of course, it wouldn't be much fun if that's all that Sony has in store in its announcement. It has also expanded the lineup of games available on PS Now to include, among other things, the gory God of War III.

Sony to axe PS Vita Maps, near, YouTube apps

It seems like Sony is putting to rest a few of its services, probably much to the dismay and even worry of its customers. Hot on the heels of an announcement that will swap out its Music Unlimited service for a Spotify-powered PlayStation Music, the tech giant is now announcing the impending shtudown of two PS Vita apps, Maps and YouTube. It isn't saying exactly why it is doing so and, in at least one case, isn't offering a replacement.

Sony’s PlayStation Experience: here’s what you missed

Sony just finished its standalone PlayStation Experience media event in Las Vegas this weekend, and it unloaded a ton of teasers on gamers. Not all of them good, unfortunately. But if you weren't keeping tabs on the press conference, you need not fret as there is plenty of time to catch up before the games hit stores next year. As to what those games are, it's a wide collection of sequels to iconic titles like Street Fighter and Yakuza, as well as a bunch of new inventions from indie developers.

Sony declares end-of-life for PlayStation Mobile on Android

Sony declares end-of-life for PlayStation Mobile on Android

Perhaps it was something inevitable but a rather sad note nonetheless. Sony is pulling the plug on the PlayStation Mobile app for Android, which will completely cut off Android users running the latest versions of the mobile platform. This will ostracize even owners of its "PlayStation Certified" Xperia handsets, in favor of focusing more on Sony's actual gaming handhelds.
