Apple Event March 27: Here’s what we expect

An Apple education event was scheduled for March 27th, 2018, and several news outlets suggest there'll be a new iPad. However, as far as what'll ACTUALLY be there, one needs only look back on a similar event that took place in early January of the year 2012. Back then, we expected Apple might reveal a new iPad, a new MacBook - any sort of new hardware, really. In reality, they showed off some new software for teachers and students.

A 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus could fix Apple’s iPad headache

A 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus could fix Apple’s iPad headache

For a long time, Apple obstinately stuck to one of the smallest touchscreens in the smartphone industry. At a time when Android rivals were embracing phablets, the 4-inch display on the iPhone 5s was an odd point of pride for Apple and its users: their message, that iOS was so well designed, that it didn't require a vast screen in order to be functional.

Cheaper iPads tipped on the horizon

Cheaper iPads tipped on the horizon

Apple will release more iPads at some point, and on the 21st of February, 2018, clues indicated the next iPad's release. These devices were listed as A1954 and A1893. With said model numbers, Apple may well release two models in the same lines that've already been established. Now the question is whether Apple will release an iPad and an iPad mini, an iPad and an iPad Pro, or two iPads, one in the "X" line, another with a more standard build.

If the 2018 iPad with Face ID looks this good, I’m sold

If the 2018 iPad with Face ID looks this good, I’m sold

Rumors of a new iPad have begun, and if the images we've got here are any indication, Apple's next slate will be a masterpiece. We've seen our fair share of iPhone concepts in the past from a wide variety of creators - but not so much on the iPad - save the months leading up to the iPad Pro. This is probably largely because of the device's relative lack of need for change over the past half-decade.

iPhone 7 Plus might be killing the iPad Mini

iPhone 7 Plus might be killing the iPad Mini

If you count yourself as an Apple fan, then you may have noticed that there's one device that hasn't really gotten any love in a while: the iPad Mini. The last update the iPad Mini line received was back in September 2015 with the introduction of the iPad Mini 4, and even then, it was announced without much fanfare as a footnote to a larger iPad Pro presentation. If it seems to you like Apple is beginning to shift away from the iPad Mini, you may not be wrong - new rumors claim that Apple is looking to discontinue the iPad Mini line altogether.

iPad mini Pro said to be one of four new iPads coming

We’ll let those words sink in for a while. It was recently leaked that Apple had not three but four new iPads in the works, probably slated for next month’s big reveal. Three of those have more or less been leaked to death in the past, but the fourth one is a new mystery. According to a Greek retailer, that fourth one is actually a new iPad mini. And not just any iPad mini, but one that has a “Pro” appended to its name.

New iPad leaked in Taiwan

New iPad leaked in Taiwan

Apple's next new iPad is tipped to come with a body that's similar to today's 9.7-inch iPad Pro, with less bezel. This means that a larger display will be able to fit in a space that's the same as current-era iPads. As such, the same cases and docks MAY be able to fit, but a slightly thicker body could ruin that bit before it happens.

What is “error 53” on my iPhone all about?

What is “error 53” on my iPhone all about?

Today Apple has confirmed that there is, indeed, a trackable reason why some unique users are receiving an "error 53" on their iPhones. It is, apparently, people who have gone out and gotten their devices repaired by non-certified Apple technicians or have DIY'ed their device repairs at home. Not just any repairs, mind you - repairs to their home button. In this home button, a button with Touch ID, is a failsafe that can brick your whole device (or at least disable it) upon software discovery.

Google Keep released to iPhone

Google Keep released to iPhone

Today Google brings one of its lesser-known super-helpful apps "Google Keep" to iPhone. This app has been out for Google's own Android operating system for many months, just coming to iOS for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for the first time today. This app will allow you to keep notes, save thoughts with audio, and keep images of odd objects in check in one colorful place. This app is out for free on iOS starting this afternoon and should work on most if not all iOS devices released over the past several years, just so long as they have all their requisite software updates from Apple.

iPad mini 4 slims Apple’s smallest tablet even more

Apple has updated its smallest tablet, introducing the iPad mini 4. Now just 0.65 pounds, the smaller, lighter version of the iOS slate played a quiet second-fiddle to the much larger iPad Pro, but comes in at a much lower price, catering for those who don't want the professional-style support for Apple Pencil.
