Palm Pre gets unboxed on video

The first Palm Pre unboxing we saw was something of an anti-climax: there turned out to be no Pre inside at all, just accessories and packaging.  Now we have a video which seems to show the eagerly-anticipated smartphone being removed from its official packaging.

Palm Pre video unboxing after the cut

Details regarding the video are few and far between, but it’s been suggested that it was filmed at CES 2009 shortly after the Pre’s first announcement.  That would seem to tally up with the YouTube upload date, which lists the video as going live on January 13th 2009.

Contents of the box – which don’t appear to mention Sprint in any form, unlike the photoset we saw earlier this week – look to comprise of the same travel charger, USB cable, pouch case and paperwork.  Currently the expectation is that Sprint and the Wall Street Journal will announce the official launch date of the Palm Pre on May 19th; that launch date is said to be on or around Sunday June 7th.
