OnePlus "E" appears at FCC in photos

A OnePlus smartphone has appeared at the FCC in a couple of testing photos that suggest the company is headed for the low end. This device looks like a combination of an iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6, working with a curved-edge black back, single-LED flash below upper left-hand corner camera (vertically), and a logo just above the center. Up front you'll find a display with black bezel above and below, and at the bottom you'll find two black lines, two sets of speaker grills, and a central USB port.

This device will likely be revealed on the 12th of October, 2015 – that's next week on Monday. There it'll be shown for what'll likely be an international launch – this device is more likely headed for emerging markets than it is for the United States.

The code-name for this device is OnePlus One E1005, which means it likely uses components similar to its predecessor, but this time with what may be a slightly different 1.9Ghz processor and support for LTE in India. This device has LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, FM radio, and a single USB jack. It's not quite clear at the moment whether or not this device will have access to USB 3.0.

Also barely visible up front is some semblance of a physical home button. This would not be all that unlike OnePlus to keep such a button present in its third smartphone – and would certainly lend itself well to any fingerprint scanning ambitions the company has for the near future.

All of this information fits in well with previous OnePlus X, (X representing the unknown,) rumors of a $250 phone on the horizon. With a 5-inch display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside, this device may yet be available by the end of the year – we'll just have to wait until Monday to find out.

PhoneScoop suggests that this device may run OxygenOS, which would mean in turn that it is not an Android One device. FCC Documents can be found with FCC ID 2ABZ2-E1005 through the FCC online
