iPhone 4 press event liveblog in 4hrs!

Four hours to go before Apple takes the stage at their Cupertino headquarters for a hastily-called press conference to discuss the iPhone 4, and that means four hours until the SlashGear liveblog kicks off.  We'll be covering all the news over at our magically auto-updating http://live.slashgear.com/ site, with the event expected to start at 10am PT (that's 1pm New York or 6pm London).  On the agenda: the state of the iPhone 4.

Apple aren't saying what exactly they'll be talking about today, but it would be an odd day if they didn't make at least some reference to the iPhone 4's antenna issues.  After the iOS 4.0.1 update helpfully made the smartphone's signal meter bars plumper, we'll hopefully hear whether a free bumper or even a recall is on the cards.  Analysts are muttering about an internal fix that might physically address the issue with no aesthetic impact, but that leaves a few million devices already in circulation with some owners already braying for blood.

Meanwhile, sightings of what look to be white iPhone 4 boxes suggest that today's event may also serve to launch the second color option for the fourth-gen smartphone, delayed thanks to unspecified manufacturing problems.  Either way, Apple fans and critics alike are waiting to see what the company pull out to stem the tide of patchy publicity, so join us in four hours time at http://live.slashgear.com/ and find out as we do!
