HTC planning UK party October 6: Euro Vigor could debut

HTC has invited SlashGear to a UK press event on October 6, and while details from the company on what the session – described as a "press conference and party" - will cover, we're guessing it's another high-profile Android device launch. Most likely candidate is the HTC Vigor, in fact, which is tipped to have a 4.3-inch 720p HD display running at 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, along with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.

Although HTC would not confirm it was the case for this event, the company has run device launch parties – with invitations for members of the public to attend – for its past few significant device reveals. Although a press-only event is expected later this month, at which the HTC Runnymede is expected to make its debut, the Vigor marks a significant step up in HTC's range to challenge Samsung and LG with an HD-capable display. The October timing could also suggest Windows Phone, but HTC has already revealed its two new Mango-based handsets, the Titan and Radar.

The company has asked us not to mention exactly where in London the October 6 event is taking place, though we expect that will be made public in relatively short order. That normally takes place on the company's HTC UK Facebook page. More on the Vigor – tipped to be the first HTC device to include Beats Audio functionality designed in from the ground up - here.

Update: To be clear, we're talking about a European version of the Vigor, seeing as that specific handset is expected to be a Verizon CDMA model.Update 2: Android Community reader Carl suggests it could be the European HTC Bass that HTC is revealing, though that handset is expected to be unveiled in the US tomorrow.
