Cowon iAudio 9 PMP gets priced & dated

Cowon's iAudio 9 PMP now has a release date and pricing, after the slimline media player was first outed at the start of October.  8.9mm thick, the iAudio 9 will be available in 8GB and 16GB configurations, and land in Japan at least in the middle of November 2009.

Specifications for the 40g PMP include a 2-inch 320 x 240 LCD TFT display and support for WMV, AVI and DivX video, together with broad audio file compatibility.  Cowon have also stuffed it full of their DSP technology, including JetEffect 3.0 and BBE+, and while we're usually sceptical of such finagling the company is known for putting out PMPs with excellent audio quality.

Pricing for the iAudio 9 is expected to be 14,800 yen ($161) for the 8GB model, and 17,800 yen ($194) for the 16GB model.  No word on whether Cowon will bring them to Europe or the US as yet, but if so they'll have to shave something off those prices in order to remain competitive against the camera-toting iPod nano.
