6 Appliance Brands That Are Owned By Haier
If you're someone living in the United States and looking to buy new appliances for your home, the brand names that first come to mind are probably names like LG, Whirlpool, Bosch, and Samsung. While all of these are among the most reliable appliance brands on the market, there are others you may not have heard of before, such as Haier. Despite its relative lack of name recognition in the U.S., Euromonitor International has ranked Haier as the world's No. 1 major appliances brand by sales volume for 17 consecutive years.
This Chinese conglomerate was founded in 1984, but Haier products didn't make their way stateside until 1999. Though it's been over a quarter of a century, the Haier name still doesn't seem to have gained much of a foothold in the United States. In reality, though, it's everywhere. Haier has its hands in so many different appliance brands on the market — including some very popular ones — that you probably had no idea that it owned, not to mention the brands it owns in other parts of the world that you may not have heard of.
Haier's company portfolio includes everything from mass-market appliances to high-end products for luxury homes, with separate brands catering to those specific needs. Here, we're going to look at six different appliance brands that are owned by Haier. All of these brands are easily accessible in the U.S. — excluding names like the luxury brand Casarte — and show the full breadth of what this conglomerate offers.
Haier
Naturally, the first brand to discuss when talking about Haier is the company's namesake. Even though they may be a bit harder to find in the United States, Haier still offers a moderate selection of appliances for purchase here. This selection leans toward more budget-friendly options, but those lower costs also come with smaller appliances, as the sizes available are more common in European or other international markets than in the U.S.
For example, the smallest French door refrigerator that LG sells has a capacity of 21 cu. ft. Meanwhile, Haier's smallest fridge of the same design has 14.5 cu. ft. of space. The standard fridge capacity in the U.S. is somewhere between 20 and 25 cu. ft., meaning the LG was already on the lower end. The Haier is incredibly small, and the largest one on offer is merely 16.8 cu. ft. Both of these Haier fridges currently retail for $1,299, compared to the $1,499 of the LG, so you're saving money at the expense of some capacity.
In total, Haier only offers 14 different kitchen appliances. That selection is limited to refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, and microwaves. The company's other arm focuses more on products like A/C units, heat pumps, and bath fans. If you're in the market for washing machines, dryers, or wall ovens, you'll need to look elsewhere. Haier used to sell washing machines in the U.S., but none are currently available through its actual website, though we ranked the brand pretty low when they were still in production. Haier's footprint in the U.S. is small, but for those on a budget with limited space, it can do the trick.
GE Appliances
The reason that Haier is all over the United States without the name being super well known is thanks to General Electric. GE was founded all the way back in the late 1800s and remained a staple of American consumer goods for more than a century before completing a planned three-way breakup in 2024. Years before that breakup, GE sold its appliance business to Haier in 2016. Even though Haier now owns GE Appliances, many of its products are still manufactured in the United States.
Within GE Appliances, two brands use the GE name: GE and GE Profile. The GE brand appliances are more mainstream, and unlike the Haier name brand, it offers just about everything you could hope for. Yes, there are fridges and stove ranges, but there are also garbage disposals, washers and dryers, water softeners, coffee makers, and food processors. GE even produces steam closets.
Then there's GE Profile, a brand focused on more premium appliances. The range of what's offered under this moniker isn't quite as sprawling as standard GE, but it's still robust, including all kinds of kitchen appliances, air conditioners, and laundry machines. For example, the regular GE brand has 58 different dishwasher options, but only 17 GE Profile dishwashers are available. The price difference can be quite stark too. The cheapest GE dishwasher is currently $419, whereas the cheapest GE Profile model is still $749. Because of this brand split, GE can offer appliances at a wider range of price points, helping it reach more homes. That's evident in GE having the second-biggest unit share in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2026.
Café
Haier's ownership of GE Appliances also means it has several other appliance brands under its umbrella. One of those is Café. This nameplate started back in 2007, when it was simply a line of products sold under the GE name. In 2018, GE Appliances launched Café as a standalone brand. Rather than going full-on luxury, Café specializes in products with a more modern aesthetic instead of clinging to the silver stainless steel look that dominates the market.
While those looks still crop up among Café appliances, you're more likely to find items that are black, brown, white, copper, or gold. The brand puts a big emphasis on customization, so when you're designing your home kitchen, you can select the colors of the handles, knobs, accents, and more. Café primarily deals in kitchen appliances. This includes major appliances like ranges and wall ovens, but there's also a selection of countertop appliances as well, particularly coffee and espresso makers to fit in with the name. Café isn't the place to look for washing machines or dryers, and the only kind of ventilation products you'll find are for your stove rather than an air conditioner.
Being a more premium brand, Café appliances can be quite pricey. The least expensive refrigerator it offers is a model with just 18.6 cu. ft. of capacity that retails for $2,879, which is the only model under $3,000. If you have some extra money in your pocket and an eye for interior design, Café is the Haier brand to look at.
Monogram
The true luxury brand of GE Appliances — and by extension, Haier — is Monogram. This is a brand that goes all the way back to 1987 and has spent decades delivering premium products for custom home kitchens. Monogram sells appliances that can feature that pristine stainless steel look or simply be integrated into your home cabinetry for a cohesive aesthetic. Beyond your standard kitchen appliances, the company also sells specialty products like steam ovens, warming drawers, hearth ovens for pizzas, or heated ice presses to get those perfectly spherical pieces of ice for cocktails.
Of course, if you're purchasing premium products, you're going to be paying premium prices for these appliances. The least expensive full-size fridge Monogram offers is $4,300, and that's quite the anomaly because the second least expensive model jumps up to a whopping $7,450. The prices for a full-size fridge can even reach up to $14,000. If you want one of those hearth ovens, that'll cost you $9,000. Even the Monogram Forge Heated Ice Press goes for $999, and that's a machine that exists to just turn a block of ice into a ball. With prices like these, Monogram sits firmly at the luxury end of Haier's portfolio.
Monogram appliances are strictly kitchen appliances. There aren't any washing machines or air conditioners to be found here, so if you were hoping for uniform luxury appliances all around your home, you're out of luck. Regardless, Monogram has been delivering on high-end kitchens for roughly 40 years now, giving Haier a shiny gift in its portfolio.
Hotpoint
When it comes to appliances, it really doesn't get any more basic than Hotpoint. The company's slogan is "America's hardest working appliances," and when you see what these appliances look like, it's easy to see why. Hotpoint primarily produces moderately priced appliances that are designed to get the job done without a lot of flashy styling. Most of these products are simply white, though there are a few black and silver models scattered about too. The company produces an array of kitchen appliances, as well as air conditioning systems and laundry appliances.
Hotpoint's history is filled with innovation. Before merging their companies, founders Earl Richardson and George A. Hughes developed the first lightweight electric iron and first electric range, respectively, in the early 1900s. In 1918, Richardson and Hughes merged their companies with GE, creating the Hotpoint brand, which was named after Richardson's iron. Hotpoint would develop other firsts, like the first fridge on wheels and the first 90 Day Replacement Guarantee of Satisfaction for its products. Because Hotpoint was part of GE Appliances, the brand came under Haier control in the Americas in 2016. Over in Europe, Hotpoint is actually owned by Whirlpool.
Just because Hotpoint appliances aren't the most visually dynamic doesn't mean they're budget products. They're built for sturdiness, so they aren't always the cheapest options. For example, a GE electric range can get as low as $619, but the lowest a Hotpoint goes for is $779. However, Hotpoint electric ranges top out at $899, so they don't break the bank either. Hotpoint is about as moderate as an appliance brand can be.
Fisher & Paykel
GE Appliances isn't the only major player in appliances that Haier has acquired over the years. Another big name it now controls is Fisher & Paykel. This is a company that goes all the way back to the 1930s, when it was created in New Zealand. It began as an appliance importing business, but when New Zealand decided to ban imports, Fisher & Paykel pivoted and began producing its own appliances, which it's done ever since. Haier acquired the company in 2012, as Fisher & Paykel looked to expand internationally. Across the years, it's done just that as manufacturing of Fisher & Paykel products has expanded beyond New Zealand to places such as China, Mexico, Thailand, and Italy.
The company now primarily produces premium appliances. Not only does it make them in a variety of different styles to best fit your home's aesthetics, ranging from contemporary styling to professional-grade products, but you also have the option for these to be free-standing appliances, built-in appliances, or fully integrated into your kitchen cabinetry. These options vary from appliance to appliance, but Fisher & Paykel wants you to have the kitchen the way you want it.
These options do come at a price, though. For just a free-standing, French-door refrigerator, you're looking at spending anywhere from $3,049 to $4,499. For a fully integrated model, that range increases to $5,499 to a whopping $11,999. Fisher & Paykel sells appliances like washing machines and even outdoor grills in some international markets, while its U.S. lineup includes a wide range of kitchen appliances. While that brand only has its hand in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, Fisher & Paykel gives Haier an even greater international luxury appliance reach, along with its U.S. presence.
