Verizon adding 21 new LTE markets on October 20

Verizon's 4G LTE network continues to expand at breakneck speeds with the carrier announcing today that it will be lighting up at least another 21 new LTE markets on October 20. The carrier had just launched 26 new markets on September 15. At this rate, it should be a breeze to reach its goal of 175 markets by year-end.

It's reported that there will be at least 21 markets in this next roll-out, but once again Verizon is slowly trickling out the news releases for each area, so we'll have to update the list as we get more information. But so far, the new markets include Sioux City, Iowa; Santa Fe and Alberquerque, New Mexico; Metro Birmingham, Alabama; Bloomington, Bedford, Evansville, and Terre Haute, Indiana; and Buffalo/Niagara area, New York. The Fort Myers, Florida market will also see further expansion.

Verizon's 4G LTE network is already available in 143 cities across the country with the carrier offering 12 devices that take advantage of the blazing fast network. Two of the most recent 4G LTE devices include the Motorola Droid Bionic and the low-cost sub-$100 Pantech Breakout.
