Online orders for the international Apple iPad may not ship until some unknown point in June, but if you got in early you may have a tablet surprise today. Recombu are reporting that preorder customers are seeing updates to their delivery schedules, with some iPads apparently “Out For Delivery” already. The tablet wasn’t expected to arrive until May 28th, tomorrow.
Update: Commenter Stefano Gervasutti is in Italy and has also had notice that his iPad should be delivered today, before noon in fact. Meanwhile at least one iPad in the UK has already been delivered.
Apple had presumably arranged delays to their shipments as with the iPad launch in the US, with the packages being held by UPS despite being in-transit from last weekend. The store-wide iPad launch doesn’t kick off until 8am Friday morning, meanwhile, with numbers expected to be reasonably limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for any sign of iPad deliveries today, but if you’ve preordered the tablet and have it drop through your letterbox early then let us know. As for what all the fuss is about, check out our iPad WiFi and iPad WiFi + 3G reviews.
