The LEGO Movie 2 scores director Rob Schrab

The LEGO Movie, despite its lack of an Oscar, is a fantastic movie that has won the hearts of many viewers. It's no surprise, then, that a second movie has been given the thumbs up. That's nothing new, but word that Rob Schrab of "Community" fame is on board to direct is and shows solid progress in what is looking to be a long and possibly delayed development. This will end up being his career's feature directorial debut, marking a solid milestone in his already successful career.

The information comes from The Wrap, which says Warner Bros.' Greg Silverman announced the movie's director yesterday. Both Roy Lee and Dan Lin are said to be producing, as well as Phil Lord and Chris Miller who are also penning the movie. Both of them previously wrote and directed the first LEGO movie.

The second LEGO movie will be yet another example in the growing number of LEGO-based entertainment. The Simpsons have notably embraced the blocks in a recent LEGO world episode, for example. It looks like there will also be a LEGO set.

If you saw The LEGO Movie, there's a good chance you fell in love with Batman in particular. If so, you're not the only one — the character proved so popular with audiences that he is getting his own movie, which will possibly delay the second LEGO movie by being released first.
