T-Mobile releases three exclusive Samsung MyFaves handsets

Hot on the heels of their MyFaves announcement, T-Mobile team up with fashionable cellphone manufacturer Samsung and spread on the Table Of Choice three exclusive handsets for your delectation.  And what a spread it is!  The t629, t609 and t509s may not have exciting, vowel-absent names (yes, Motorola, I'm cocking a snook at you) but they do have slender slinkiness in spades.

The t629, above, is a 0.55" thick quadband slider with 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and IM client (supporting AOL, ICQ, Yahoo! and MSN); with similar features, the t619, below, adds what Samsung are calling "HiFi Ringers" (stereo ring tones, perhaps?) to its 0.66" frame.

The t509s, obviously an upgrade to the t509, distinguishes itself through its rich plum colour.  Other than that, it's not especially remarkable – VGA camera, which is a bit of a let down in a world where 1.3 megapixels is fast becoming the bare minimum, the same IM support as its flip and sliding brethren, and a measly 7mb (no, that's no typo, mb) of internal memory, which apparently cannot be expanded.  Still, that's a fair few pictures at VGA resolution.

Let's face it, none of these phones are going to top the charts for features or – at the risk of sounding unkind – appearance.  But they'd make good entry points for people starting with T-Mobile's MyFaves service, which allows free cross-network calls to five elected numbers (which can be changed each month), whether they prefer candy-bar, flip or slide.
