Super Mario Maker 2 course upload limit increased again

If you're a fan of creating courses in Super Mario Maker 2, then you'll definitely be pleased to know that Nintendo has increased the course upload limit once again. Players can upload a total of 100 courses to Nintendo's servers, giving fans a lot more space to work with when it comes to making stages available online. Previously, the course upload limit was set to 64 stages.

Back when Mario Maker 2 launched, the limit wasn't even that high. On launch day, Super Mario Maker 2 limited players to uploading 32 stages, which is downright paltry compared to 64, let alone 100. Nintendo raised the course upload limit to 64 back in July, and when it did that, it said it planned to raise the course upload limit again.

That time has come, though it's arriving with surprisingly little fanfare. As far as we can tell, there are no patch notes announcing this change, nor are there any news articles on the Super Mario Maker 2 website. The only place Nintendo seems to mention this update is on Twitter and in Super Mario Maker 2's in-game news section.

Regardless, we're sure the Mario Maker 2 die-hards will be happy to hear this news. This is probably the last increase we'll see for Super Mario Maker 2's course upload limit – not only did Nintendo's statement in July suggest that only one more update was on the way, but the original Super Mario Maker capped players at 100 uploads as well.

In any case, if the arrival Link and the brand new mechanics that came along with him got you back into making levels, you now have a lot more slots to worth with. We'll be keeping an eye out for more Mario Maker 2 announcements, so stay tuned for more.
