Samsung Galaxy Tab £199 subsidized or £599 unlocked tips distributor

Samsung is still keeping quiet on exactly what the RRP for their Galaxy Tab slate will be when it launches in the UK on November 1st, but trade distributor Micro P seem determined to tip their hand early.  Mobile Division General Manager John Doughty told T3 that the 7-inch Android tablet would have an RRP of £599 when sold unlocked and SIM-free, or a recommended £199 subsidized price.

That subsidy obviously assumes you'll sign up to an agreement, in this case a two-year contract at £25 per month.  That works out to £799 over the course of the agreement.  The new figures echo those we heard at the start of the month, which also suggested a £599 sticker for the Galaxy Tab.

Doughty also says that carriers will be offering "a range of price packages be available across all the major networks" which suggests not every carrier will be subsidizing to the same extent.  One possibility we're hearing talk of is an iPad-style rolling agreement, with a minimally-subsidized Galaxy Tab and a month-to-month data package with no minimum obligation.
