Pokemon GO: Super Incubator event and 2km egg contents

The Pokemon GO Solstice event is upon us, and today we've taken a look at the details all trainers seek. This update requires that trainers have the newest version of Pokemon GO, first of all – so be sure to head to your app store to get it. Then, it's time to speak about the Super Incubator. The Super Incubator is the newest and most powerful Pokemon GO item to have ever been released in the game – let's have a chat about it.

Super Incubator Uses

The Super Incubator is the most awesome egg-hatching item in Pokemon GO, and it might not stick around forever. It's begun its life in Pokemon Go during this Equinox event here in 2017, and Niantic has hinted that it might appear again – but it might leave forever after this event is finished. This item is available only through the Equinox Event box.

Users will be limited to three uses of this Super Incubator before it breaks. Once the Super Incubator breaks, it's gone from the user's inventory forever. Or at least until they get another one. This Super Incubator is similar to previous incubators in that it's a distance-based item. In the future, there may be other ways to hatch Pokemon eggs quicker.

Super Incubator Egg Distance

The Super Incubator hatches eggs at a rate of 1.5x – that's not PERFECTLY exact, but does work with a distance multiplier of 0.6666666667 (as it's written in the game's code). It makes eggs hatch faster – that's the long and short of it. The following distances are true of the eggs in the game right this minute.

Super Incubator Egg Distance Chart:

• 2KM egg: 1.3333km / 0.8285mi

• 5KM egg: 3.3333km / 2.0712mi

• 10KM egg: 6.6666km / 4.1424mi

Super Incubator Multiples

More than one Super Incubator can be used at a time, but only if the user has Pokemon GO version 0.71 or higher. This version of the game includes the Super Incubator's icons as well as finalized code for display and use. Super Incubators work the same as any other incubator save their multiplier and purchase price.

Special, Great, Ultra Box Contents

To attain a Super Incubator, the user must purchase one of three Limited Edition boxes in the Shop. These are the Special Box, the Great Box, and the Ultra Box. The chart below shows which box contains which items. Note that there's a bit of a so-called "discount" going on right now with these boxes, at 4% lower than normal for the Special Box, 26% and 30.8% discount for Great and Ultra respectively.

SEE TOO: Pokemon GO Halloween event 2017: Time to get DARK!Special Box: 3 Super Incubators, 5 Lure Modules, 0 Lucky Eggs, Cost: 480 coins. Great Box: 5 Super Incubators, 10 Lure Modules, 4 Lucky Eggs, Cost: 980 coins. Ultra Box: 8 Super Incubators, 15 Lure Modules, 8 Lucky Eggs, Cost: 1480 coins.

What's strange here is the pricing of the boxes VS their number of Super Incubators. The Great Box has the highest price per Super Incubator, while the Special Box has the best price per Super Incubator. The big difference comes in the amount of Lures and Lucky Eggs included with each package.

I recommend users go with the Special Box, since it offers the cheapest Super Incubators – but no Lucky Eggs. If you want all the Lucky Eggs in the world, you may as well go with the Ultra Box, because 8 is 2x 4, and the Great Box is more than half the price of the Ultra Box.

2km Egg Contents and Wrap-up

This event has a special set of Pokemon in 2km Pokemon Eggs. They are not the same as normal 2km eggs, and drop only during this one event. This event's 2km eggs include Slugma, Pineco, Porygon, Remoraid, Chinchou, and Slowpoke on the common side. Uncommon Pokemon in these 2km eggs include Nidoran, Larvitar, Pichu, Oddish, Zubat, Magikarp, and Mareep, while rares include Skarmory, Sudowudo, Togepi, Dratini, and Miltank.

In 2km eggs on the Ultra-Rare tip is Tyrogue, Snorlax, and Chansey. We'll take all the Snorlax we can get. For more information and discussion on this event, head over to SlashGear's Pokemon GO Central on Facebook right now!
