OnePlus 6 Official: release date, specs, price (all the details)

Today we're having a peek at the OnePlus 6 in full detail. This device is the newest in a line of devices from a brand that's aimed to set itself aside in the market in a number of ways. Where before it was all about offering a high-end device at a low price, now it's all about offering a premium device at a decent price. The OnePlus 6 has a notch and a headphone jack and a big fat display up front.

The OnePlus 6 has a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with an 83.8-percent screen-to-body ratio. This device has 1080 x 2280 pixels across its face, and its display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This device's front and backside glass are surrounded by an aluminum frame.

More than one different backside will be offered with this smartphone. There's an aluminum back and a glass back, both in black. There's a Silk White option too – and an Avengers Edition made just in time to drink in the success of Infinity War. The phone will be semi-waterproof too – at last!

This device has dual-SIM capabilities – nano-SIM with dual stand-by. Dimensions of this device are 155.7 x 75.4 x 7.8 mm (6.13 x 2.97 x 0.31 in) and weight comes in at 177 g (6.24 oz). Inside is Android 8.1 Oreo right out the box with Oxygen OS right over the top.

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (SDM845) with octa-core CPU 4x2.7 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver. There's an Adreno 630 GPU in there too. There's no microSD card slot, but there are several options for RAM/Internal Storage size.

• 64GB storage / 6GB RAM

• 128GB storage / 6GB RAM

• 256GB storage / 8GB RAM

There's a pair of cameras at the back of this device that make it top-notch. One is 16-megapixels, the other is 20-megapixels. The 16MP camera rolls with f/1.7, 27mm, 1/2.8", 1.12µm, gyro EIS, the 20MP camera has f/1.7, and the whole amalgamation has phase detection autofocus. It all rolls with a dual-LED flash setup, too.

Up front is a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0, 20mm, 1.0µm, gyro EIS, automatic HDR, and the ability to capture 1080p video. This camera is housed in a notch, not unlike the cameras of several other similar-looking devices released over the past several weeks. This trend began with the ESSENTIAL PHONE PH-1.

Pricing on the OnePlus 6 is approximately 519 Euro or $530 – that's for the 64GB edition with 6GB RAM. The 128GB version comes in at $580 USD. The 256GB / 8GB version will cost around $630. Release day for most regions is May 21 (or 22, dependent on where you're living).
