One Apple Watch accessory leaks before today's event

With less than a few hours until Apple's big press event begins, a new item has been leaked. It may not be clear images of the new iPhones or Apple TV, but it is a new accessory for the Apple Watch. It's been expected that Apple would debut new watchbands for its flagship wearable, and now we know that one will be a red version of the Sport Band under the (Product)RED branding.

The new watchband has been confirmed by a photo shared on Twitter from tech blogger Larry Greenberg. The image shows the band's packaging, with clear labeling that says it's a red Sports Band for the 42mm Apple Watch.

Of course, we've already seen the red Sports Band before, back when it was seen at Milan Design Week, along with several other exclusive colors, shortly after the Apple Watch went on sale in April.

This will be Apple's first Apple Watch product to be associated with (Product)RED, which donates a portion of sales to fighting AIDS. Red will be a new addition to the existing Sport Band colors of black, white, blue, green, and pink.

There's a possibility more watchband colors will be announced today, with previous rumors mentioning yellow and navy blue. We won't have long to wait to find out, however. Tune in with us to watch the event on our live Apple coverage page!
