We made no bones about our general displeasure with the Nokia N97 and N97 mini QWERTY keyboards, the lack of tactile feedback of which (and general bumpy rubberiness) let to a sluggish typing experience, so we’re hoping this leaked shot of the purported Nokia C6 turns out to be authentic. Ostensibly a 5800 with a slide-out QWERTY, the keys look more in line with those of the N900.
Elsewhere the rumored specifications include 256MB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot, and of course we can glean 3G connectivity and a touchscreen from the image itself. However there’s no tilting display as on the N97/N97 mini, something which might disappoint some would-be buyers.
The C6 follows Nokia’s new naming convention, officially announced with the launch of the Nokia C5 candybar. The Cseries will be Nokia’s core, entry-level range – as opposed to the social entertainment focused Xseries, business-centric Eseries and flagship Nseries – and according to the leak the C6 will arrive in Europe before the summer 2010.
