The smart home generally gets a lot more useful the more it’s connected, and now Nest Cam buyers can get three of the streaming cameras in a new bundle. Set to go on sale this weekend, the new Nest package consists of a trio of the WiFi-enabled security cameras for $497.
That’s a saving of $100 compared with buying three cameras individually.
Announced back in June, Nest Cam streams video at 1080p Full HD resolution. Motion-detection sends a push-notification out to the companion app if movement in the camera’s frame is spotted, and there’s night vision for low-light situations.
Nest also offers the Nest Aware service, with up to a month of cloud-based saved video, the ability to download and share clips, and timelapse creation. You get a month’s free trial with each camera purchase, but after that it’s a subscription based service.
It’s worth noting that a single subscription only covers one Nest Cam, though there’s a discount if you have multiple cameras. Assuming you want Nest Aware for all three of the cameras in the bundle, you’re looking at $20 per month in total for 10-day history video access.
Subscriptions are cheaper if you pay for a full year in advance, and there’s also a 30-day play which is more expensive. Nest allows you to mix and match cloud DVR lengths on a per-camera basis, and indeed you can have a combination of Nest Cams with and without Nest Aware service.
The Nest Cam Bundle will be available from Nest direct, as well as through Amazon and Apple, and in-store at Best Buy and Home Depot.
