NERF Fortnite blasters bring battle royale to real world backyards

Hasbro has some toys planned based on the hit video game Fortnite, and it'll include NERF-branded Fortnite blasters. These upcoming weapons will allow kids to (safely!) bring the battle royale gameplay into the real world, doing so with fun blasters that launch foam projectiles. The toy will join the upcoming Fortnite-themed Monopoly game revealed last week.

Hasbro, a toy company, revealed plans to release Fortnite-theme toys and similar products starting this fall. As we previously reported, the company is planning a "Monopoly: Fortnite Edition" game, which is exactly what it sounds like — a Monopoly game where the places and style are inspired by Fortnite Battle Royale.

That game will be launching in the US and UK this fall season, expanding into other regions starting some time next year. The company also revealed plans to release Fortnite-inspired NERF blasters, which will also be available to purchase some time in 2019.

Unfortunately, the company didn't provide a specific launch date or images of the upcoming blasters; we can say for sure that they won't be available in time for this upcoming holiday season, though.

Hasbro's news follows a similar announcement from toy company Funko, which is planning to launch a line of POP! toys and more based on Fortnite characters. We don't know their exact launch date yet, but the company did say they'd be available in time for the holidays.
