iPad 2 case video claims iPod touch profile for 2nd-gen slate

Another case purportedly for the second-generation iPad 2 has emerged, this time with video highlighting the supposed differences in casing design between the first-gen iOS slate. Japanese blog Macotakara suggest that the new iPad will have a more iPod touch-style back panel, with tapering edges rather than the more blunt-sided current model.Video after the cut

In fact, slotting an iPod touch into the leaked Alibaba case shows the side-profiles are very similar, lending support to talk last week of the slimmed-down slate. It also shows the large cut-out for the supposedly boosted speaker, and a cut-out on the back for a camera.

Although Apple is yet to confirm plans to produce a new iPad in 2011, the expectation is that a refreshed slate will be announced early in the new year. Hardware changes are expected to include a switch to a dual-core processor, likely using ARM's 1GHz Cortex A9.
