HTC One M9 lands in stores April 10, online on March 27

Those who have been waiting for HTC's latest and greatest need not wait much longer. The OEM has just announced today when their existing fans and new converts in the US will be able to grab the One M9 from their favorite carrier or retailer. Starting March 27, at exactly 12:01 a.m. ET, people can order HTC's 2015 flagship online. But if you prefer to buy it from a store, you'll have to wait for April 10 to roll around before you can do so.

HTC is billing the One M9 as a smartphone that is just as luxurious as it is powerful. Having seemingly perfected its design that has started back in 2013 with the first One, HTC adds some fine touches that it describes to be similar to a watchmaker's dedication and craft. And there is very little denying that when you see and touch the device. But the One M9 isn't just for show either, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and with audio driven by BoomSound technology.

We definitely wish we could say that the HTC One M9 is the best of its class. Sadly, we found it to be a bit wanting in some areas. The still Full HD screen immediately comes to mind. The decision to go with a 20 megapixel camera with a smaller aperture, and without OIS, is yet another sticking point. That's not to say that the One M9 is not a great smartphone, but sometimes even the littlest blemishes can detract from an otherwise almost perfect device. If, however, you are not too picky about these and other nitpicks, the One M9 might very well be the one for you.

Of course, HTC isn't only offering a great device. It is also offering peace of mind. In time for the launch of the One M9, HTC is also offering its new UH OH Protection program, the evolution of its HTC Advantage offer. HTC wants to know it has your back when you crack a screen or get your One M9 wet. And, for the first time, HTC will also take care of you when you want to change carriers. All within a period of 12 months. If you happen to have kept your One M9 pristine within that year, HTC will give your a $100 discount of a future One purchase instead.

The HTC One M9 will be available on all major US carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. As for retail locations, you can find them in Amazon, Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile, Costco Wholesale, and Target. Carriers and retailers will announce their own pricing and available models as well. Shipping dates for carriers will vary, but, if you order the unlocked version online, with a price tag of $649, on the 27th, you will receiver your device before retail opens on April 10.
