ASUS’ Eee PC T91 has appeared on the Amazon US site, listed as in-stock and ready for immediate delivery. Priced at $499.99, the long-awaited T91 is ASUS’ first 8.9-inch convertible touchscreen netbook, and uses an Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, 1GB of RAM (2GB max) and the company’s custom “TouchSuite” UI.
Other specifications include a 16GB SSD paired with an included 16GB SD card for storage, as well as 20GB of ASUS’ online Eee Storage. This particular model lacks the integrated 3G, GPS, TV tuner or multitouch support that other versions of the T91 are believed to include.
While the specifications are unlikely to give any mainstream tablet PCs cause for concern, the relatively low price should see ASUS onto a winner with the T91. There is some confusion over stock levels, however; ASUS have warned that supplies of the netbook are “limited”, but failed to explain whether that was a short-term situation or otherwise.
