Apple Store down: Snow Leopard preorders imminent?

If you were thinking of making a spontaneous iMac purchase then hold your horses, as Apple have taken down their international stores for the usual busy round of updating.  No official word on what might be added once the site is back up, but it hardly seems a stretch of the imagination to guess that it's probably going to be preorder pages for OS X Snow Leopard.

That would certainly fit in with talk last week about Snow Leopard shipping out on August 28th to preorder customers, spotted in an early-posted listing on the Apple UK site.  That page had no place to actually order the DVD, however, so this refresh seems likely to remedy that situation.  We'll be keeping an eye on it over the next few hours.
