Woolet smart wallet barks so you won't lose it

We've seen some snazzy wallets in the past, including this minimalist metal one, but some are more inclined toward soft leather. Such is the nature of Woolet, but it hides a lot of modern trimmings, including Bluetooth connectivity. This mixes traditional, sophisticated stylings with the perks of modern technology to create an overall product not terribly likely to be lost — it can, after all, alert the owner of when it is being left behind. See it in action after the jump!

Woolet appeals to the dog lover in you, being themed with a "woof woof" that goes off on your smartphone if it moves away from the wallet. The idea is that the wallet is connected with the smartphone, and the smartphone is probably on your person. If you move away from the wallet, then, so does the phone, the proximity of which triggers the alert.

You can tell when you're getting closer by pulling up the Woolet app, which shows a dog's tail wagging as you get nearer. The wallet measures in at 9.9mm, charges on its own, is designed to hold any currency (whether it is dollar, euros, etc), and it works in reverse, giving an alert if you're moving the wallet away from the phone. Also joining the Woolet is the Woolet RFID Blocking Sleeve, a Woolet phone cover, and a key finder.

The company behind the Woolet (Woolet Co) was looking to raise $15,000 USD on Kickstarter, and it succeeded in short order, currently sitting at about $86,000 in pledges with 30 days remaining. You'll need to pledge $99 to get a Woolet in black made from calf leather. Shipping to backers is estimated to start this upcoming May.
