We're getting some good news for our pals in Canada this evening, as Best Buy seems to think that Sony's white PS3 super slim will be launching in the country later this month. A new listing for the colored console has popped up on Best Buy's website, giving us details about its release date and price to boot. Since Best Buy probably wouldn't begin advertising a new console without advance notice from Sony, we feel okay saying that this is probably legitimate, but keep in mind that there hasn't been any official confirmation from Sony at this hour.
In any case, Best Buy says these white consoles will begin arriving at its warehouses on January 27, which is just a couple short weeks away. There's a 500GB hard drive packed in this bundle, along with one year of PS Plus. There doesn't appear to be any games included in this package, but with that year of PS Plus, you'll probably be swimming in free games before long.
No word on how long this limited edition bundle will be around, but if you want to take one home with you, you'll have to drop $300. That doesn't seem too bad considering the size of the hard drive and limited edition color, but keep in mind that this is Sony's newest PlayStation model. A few people have been complaining about the look and feel of this latest PlayStation Slim, so you might want to take that into account if you're thinking of picking this one up.
Still, as far as PS3 packages go, the hard drive makes this is one of the better offerings we've seen come out of Sony. There isn't any word on whether or not this limited edition color will make its way to the US, but since it's been released in Europe, Australia, Japan, and is apparently headed for Canada, that's a pretty good sign. We'll have to wait and see what Sony has to say on the matter, so stay tuned.
