What's Yellow, Black and 70kg lighter? The Lotus Evora Sport 410

Lotus has unveiled a new special edition of its Evora sports car. The vehicle is called the Lotus Evora Sport 410 and it is one of the fastest Lotus models ever introduced. The car is able to reach 60mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186 mph.

Lotus has always followed the less is more approach when it comes to weight and the Evora Sport 410 keeps to that mantra with 70kg less of it to carry around than the Evora 400. The car comes with lots of carbon fiber bits as standard including an entire engine cover made of the lightweight and strong material.

The 410 in the name of the car comes from the power output of the supercharged engine under the hood making 410hp, the same engine that is used in the track focused 3-Eleven. This car now sits at the top of the Evora range and looks fantastic doing it. Lotus extended the weight reduction inside the car with lightweight door trim panels.

Despite being lightweight, Lotus promises that the car has the refinement needed for every day driving. At the Lotus test track the car lapped in 1 minute 28 seconds, 3-seconds faster than the standard Evora 400. The weight reduction also allows the car to handle better; the overall curb weight for the Evora Sport 410 is 1325kg. The 3.5L supercharged V6 makes 410hp and 410nm of torque.

The car uses a manual gearbox with a low inertia flywheel, an automatic flappy paddle gearbox is optional. The Sport 410 has Lotus Dynamic Performance Management with sport and race settings. The seats are carbon fiber and are Alcantara trimmed. The car will be limited to only 150 units globally per year with a version specifically for North America coming in June, pricing is unannounced.
